  • Agile for guys that old.

  • Jack Johnson is an inspiration, especially to those of us who've been victim of prejudice and hate! Learning about this man has helped me a lot in life in times of struggle!

  • "Speed kills."-- Cus D'Amato

At 67 the man still has some wheels.

  • 1908, also the last time the Cubs won anything. : )

  • In case anyone's wondering, Jeannette won by decision..

  • this was the 40s n the modern styles was already established by joe louis james braddock etc i wonder how the boxers of that time view johnsons old style which was more reminiscent of bare knuckle boxing

  • wow..amazing...look at that footwork; they look like 2 drunken old fools going at it on a backstreet over a bottle of vodka.

  • Its a shame no footage of the fights for the 'coloured' championship exists, as that was the title the best boxers of the era fought for! Along with Sam McVea & Sam Langford these two had some great fights RIP Jack Johnson & Joe Jeanette All time boxing Greats!!!!

  • damn johnson had a big ass head

  • @2pacback2014 Yes he did as most great boxers do

  • Amazing footage!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Great video! Thank you friend. maurice

  • a prime johnson would play with the klitschko brothers, he would humiliate them

  • f@combatesdeboxeo you silly muppet The klitschkos are far to big for Jack johnson they would destroy him

  • @gammastag obviously you are an absolute simpleton who know shit about boxing, it is not all about size fucking retarded, jack dempsey weighed 189 pounds when he killed willard 6´6 245 pounds, joe louis weighed 200 pounds when he killed primo carnera who was 260 -284 pounds of pure muscle and naturally much stronger than any klitschko. johnson was too smart, too fast and skilled, he was pretty strong as well. now go to watch mma , punk piece of shit.

  • @combatesdeboxeo

you're telling us that Jack Johnson would play with the Klitschko's? lol :))

No wonder you got chased out from ESB...you're too senile even for the classic forum which says allot

  • @AfflictionFTW probably you are another 15 years old kid from the general forum, you think that superman is real and he would beat ali right? you think that valuev would beat joe louis right? hehehe bye kid bye

  • @combatesdeboxeo

No but i do think that you're an absolute imbecile.

  • @combatesdeboxeo Sorry, but the Klitschko's would maim Johnson. It's not even funny how terribly one-sided that fight would be. Johnson would get destroyed. Both brothers would beat him to death with jabs. Johnson landed 95% of his punches in clinches and relied on facing old HWs or MWs who were always smaller, shorter and lighter than him. He couldn't compete against anyone today. He was really an above-average boxer. Outside the ring fame has overrated him.

  • @crowley0312 "Sorry, but the Klitschko's would maim Johnson. It's not even funny how terribly one-sided that fight would be."

    LMAO

  • @combatesdeboxeo Laugh all you want, but it's true. You're deluded if you think Johnson could play with them. His style looks terribly raw. The Klitschko's are more advanced.

  • @combatesdeboxeo Still laughing at your "LMAO." I have doubts you have ever seen one of Johnson's full fights. He's OK, but his political backround hs overrated him. Either Klitschko could bully and play with him all night. He'd be out-sized, out-smarted, out-powered, out-classed, etc. I understand you don't know anything about boxing, but can you try not to sound like a complete retard?

  • @crowley0312 THE FACT IS THAT YOU DID ANSWER TO MY LAUGH AGAIN AND AGAIN, IT PROVES YOUR INSECURITY ABOUT YOUR ABSURD COMMENT, I WILL NOT SPEND MY TIME TALKING WITH YOU ABOUT BOXING , SIMPLY BECAUSE YOUR COMMENT WAS TOO RIDICULOUS, AND I KNOW "A BIT" ABOUT BOXING, I WOULD NOT LEARN NOTHING TALKING WITH YOU.

    GET A NICE DAY

  • @combatesdeboxeo You would not learn anything* talking to me, not you would not learn nothing... Have a nice day :)

  • Greateast heavyweight of all time! and he did what he wanted in a time black people couldnt. clone Jack Johnson so he can come back and give the heavyweight division a jumpstart and then he could give it to the Klichco"s

  • Good or bad this is a solid piece of American history.

  • The Galveston Giant in his prime was ahead of his time. Not just in the art of boxing but also in his lifestyle. A true American original. God bless the ORIGINAL Jack Johnson Heavyweight Champion of the World.

  • My grandmother was Joe Jeannette's sister. My grandmother was an amazing woman who passed at 97 in 1989. My entire family is white...except for my grandma and my aunt; she passed in 2004. I don't know anything but what I read and what my mom, now 85, tells us. We have som old family pics of the Jeannette's, also. Anyway...just saw I special on him and felt like looking him up.

  • shit the ring was huge back then

  • wow...great to watch

  • aww look at my uncle Joe. he never gave up

  • Great vid. but one mistake. Johnson was a year older than Joe who would have been 65 or 66 here. Two all time great fighters.

  • Wow. Never saw Id see color footage of Johnson and Jeanette. Awesome post, thanks!

  • Wow. They look like they can fight fighters much younger than they are!

  • The colorization of the film was great! It's like a who's who in boxing with Johnson,

Jeanette, Harry Wills and Micky Walker looking like a slick gangsta in his suit.

  • muhammed ali reemins me a little bit of johnoson..

  • you never really lose it.....

  • he was undoubtedly a natural born fighter...when i saw the beginning of the tape, i was figuring him to be in his late 50's...looks incredible for 67!...and joe jeanette looks equally fit.

  • Johnson never grew up. Even at 67 he still had skills and was extremely articulate.

  • 2:28 Johnson's underrated quickness and footwork still apparent at 67. He's the same age here as Ali is today

  • amazing

  • I've had more dumbasses than I care to remember get furious when I challenge their delusion that Muhammad Ali was "the greatest". Johnson will always get my vote for that title. He had the speed of hand and foot, could seriously punch (unlike Ali), and was extremely hard to hit solidly.

  • @ecavuto, everything you said describes Ali. Muhammad without a doubt was the fastest and smartest (ringwise) heavyweight ever. He was faster than Johnson, his mind, feet, hands, and mouth would be too advanced for johnson cause johnson was bold himself and here he is going against a guy who was in every way a better showboater, johnson wouldn't know where to go with that. Also Ali's psi punch was terribly underrated, if he didn't hit hard, he wouldn't have ANY knockouts. sorry but ali wins

  • Johnson still looked very fit at 67, and he still had very skilfull footwork. Forget about exhibitions, he cold have fought for real!

  • Johnson had a good speaking voice.

  • @Kerbee Yeah, a very "presidential" voice. lol

  • thanks ;)

    never saw this before

  • wow these guys can fuckin move at that age.

  • I never saw color footage of this exhibition. It really gives a new level of life to it.

    great uploda

  • Legendary post

  • brilliant post

  • I say watching these two 70 year olds moving around that quick at that age shows what incredible athletes they were in their prime.

  • holy crap this quality is amazing.

    Did u see his footwork...as a 67 year old?!?!

And they say he wouldnt be able to compete with todays contenders....tsk

  • @reznick8 Lol, He was amazing

  • and they say holyfield is too old?

  • great footage

  • get footage

  • I have this Footage,

its a shame they gotta get old =(

  • It's amazing how well Johnson still moved at that age.

  • This is absolutely priceless material. I never thought I'd ever see color pictures of three of the best heavys of the early part of the 20th century. Johnson, Jeannette, an dWills are smongst my faves. Thanks for posting.

  • yeah, sam mcvey and sam langford to complete your list
