God, this is magic. I'm buying canon 550d with this lense and i didn't expect it to be so EPIC. It's magic, im telling you...gosh, and this dust 'sunlight' effect..brilliant.
I've been debating between the Rebel t3i, Nikon d5100, andSony A36 for the past month... After stumbling upon your channel, I've finally made my decision!!
by the way what programme do you edit with? When I import the HD files into Sony Vegas or Premier Pro the playback is very choppy and hard to edit, I have to convert all the video files which takes too long. Do you have any tips?
@Zronxziq Yes, but this was shot at 25fps because he's using the PAL video system, which is standard in Europe. If you switch any of the video-capable canon DSLRs to PAL instead of NTSC, your options for frame rates become 24, 25, and 50.
I have the same camera, use it for wonderful photos. I recently tried videos but no matter what I do I get a choppy look. I did tripod, fixed lens, hold my breath so nothing moves... and still choppy. Can anyone tell me why?
@suzanneszarai It is all most certainly the quality of your memory card. they come in different class rates. A minimum requirment for video is 6... If you can afford it though, go for class 10
Did you use 1/50 shutter because it is twice of 25 fps? Someone told me that shutter is always twice of the number of frame per second but as a photographer I cannot understand that. What if the there is fast action? Wouldn't everything get blurry?
I have a canon 550d and the 18 - 55 mm lense. I'm pretty sure it's impossible to make it look as good as this! Could you do a tutorial on how to make it look like this?
The value of this video is immense. It shows the supremacy of man vs equipment. Most professional videographers could not do this with a truckload of ARRI gear. It shows the difference between a videographer and a filmmaker.
@dinoalberini Well said. You can read pages and pages of text about which camera is better, which lens is better. People saying you cant shoot a movie on anything less than a 5D. This video proves them all wrong. The equipment is only part of it. It's what you do with it that makes the difference. The camera is the tool, it's what you do with it that counts.
Im using adobe premier man, what are you export settings I can't get it to look this crisp at 360 :( Can you tell us what settings you use, really specifically please man ?

I have the same camera and lens and have no idea how to get the quality this good, do you know of any websites that have tutorials or any places I can go to learn?
Hi. What I'd like to know is: how did you get everything in focus? (ie large depth of field) I assume that you had an F stop of about F11 but with no light, you would have had a high ISO, but then, there is hardly any noise. Maybe auto ISO?
Hi. What I'd like to know is: how did you get everything in focus? I assume that you had an F stop of about F11 but with no light, you would have had a high ISO, but then, there is hardly any noise. Maybe auto ISO?
This is the most cinematic footage I have seen so far shot on a DSLR. How did you get it to look this good? How come other vids from the same camera in 24p don't look this nice?
Hey Andy, would you please give me some tips? I've got a problem about filming since i bought this camera, and i hope you help me. I Usually shoot films at 100ISO,200 ISO, 720p 60fps and low shutter speed, the highest possible number i guess. When i take the footage from the sdhc card to my computer and play it, looks really noisy/grainy, but at the camera previewing it looks great. My SDHC card is a 32GB 10MB/s card.
hey mate great filming i was genuinely shocked to find out you used a kit lens and get this kind of result one question do you have a link of what steadycam you used?
@Andyax hey i bought that camera like 1 week ago, and i realy like it, here is my question, in which cases i should put my shutter speed lower or higher? what shutter speed actualy does ?
@buzzie114 you should always keep your shutter speed at 1/50, or 1/48 if you have that option. canon 550d only has 1/50. shutter speed controls amount of motion blur. faster the shutter speed, the less blur, but the choppier the film looks. feature films are always shot at a natural blur of 1/48. whatever your frames per second is (feature films = 24) you double that to set your shutter speed. however, when its bright, slower shutter speeds let in more light. for that you'll need an ND filter.
I almost can't believe this is on the 550d, this camera does not cease to amaze me each time I see what the community is doing with it! Think I have to put my order in! Can you share what lense you used and the settings you applied? Great videos, subscribing :)
hey im going to get this camera to film/photograph skateboarding and i was wondering, does it take awhile to get the hang of the zooming and focusing on the lens and having it look good?

@aboha6 Some those questions you asked were answered in the video haha. Lemme make it easier for you though.
1. He didn't use a Tripod, he was using a "Hand Held Steady Cam"
2. The ONLY lightening he used was "Natural Sunlight"
3. For the colors, He color corrected in Color (I'm not for certain but that might be a software? O_O?)
As for him using Sony Vegas, no idea haha. Hopefully he could answer that for you if he ever has a chance to read your comment. Hope that helped in a way?
