I saw Slim for the first time at Club Lingerie in LA in the early '90's. He and his band were tight. Loved him ever since. He is America's Keith Richards.

"The Old New Me", his first solo album after the Mats split is better than a few of the later Mats records. Totally awesome. Idn it? is classic, Partner In Crime, Just Fer The Hell Of It etc... Awesome! His guitar style is total Keith Richards, but he definitely has his own Memphis streets/back roads style that he totally nails! Some decent artists spend their whole career tryin' to nail their "thing" and never quite pull it off. Slim does, every tune-every time!
