Red stars are colder stars (1000 Kelvin), while our sun is approx. 5780 Kelvin on the surface, which put's its light output in the middle of the spectrum making it white. Because the sun emits waves along the entire electromagnetic spectrum, it releases all colors which blend into pure white light.
