  • 7.62x51mm

  • what scope mount did you use? the only ones i've found are scout types that go above the front sight.

  • I always thought that hitting on the magazine like that is dangerous O_o

  • LOL!!!!!!!!!! I was nearly doing the same with the naked eye and iron sights... first time shooting my K.Kale 98. I hit IN target 5 out of 8 shots. 100yards.

  • i think you need to invest in some stripper clips

  • @semiautoriflelover 8mm. I have a Spanish 1893 Mauser in 7x57mm that I'll be shooting once I get back home. I sold this particular Mauser, and the guy that bought it, put a different scope on it, and handloaded some ammo. He was able to get under MOA with handloads.

  • hey man i got kind of a dumb question. the mauser 98 does shoot the 7.62x54R cartridge right

  • @bobiscool308 It shoots the 8mm or 7.92X57mm cartridge!

  • cough MOSIN cough lol love the mauser as well try out the mosin m91/30 if you ever have the chance

  • I've owned a few Mosin M91/30s in my time. I'm looking for an M44.

  • @millerusaf ive got one its a bad mofo and the m38 carbine is also a nice rifle as well cant go wrong with either one especially the 5ft pumkins it shoots out great video keep em coming and good luck on your deployment get back safe

  • @millerusaf have you ever tried Gunbroker? I found a couple beautiful M44 on there

  • You got a good deal for $300 !

  • where did u get the scope mount? I want to put a scope on my mauser for shooting. My uncle already screwed up the stock so its not worth anything

  • I bought it with the scope.

  • I didn't turn the camera sideways. What's with the idiot remark?

  • @millerusaf wtf i looked on my responses and saw this one. iv nvr even seen this video. i dont know how this happened lol

  • Notice the orientation of the numbers on the section of target he's shooting at and look at where the ground is... who's the idiot now?

  • did u sight in the frount sight first left and right i hade 1 of these i got it into 100yrds on a none windy day i was lil bigger then a 50 cent peces off from the bull 'seye

  • I'm not using the iron sights at all. My Mauser doesn't have the rear sight assembly at all.

Mausers are pretty accurate and afforable rifles. I recommend everyone get one. :)

  • ya sry i commented an posted b4 i saw the gun my bad nice shotting tho

  • Try some .308 Federal, BTHP, 168 Grain Gold Medal Match, Sierra Match King in that thing and your groups will be at 1 inch or less I'm betting. These bullets are just over a dollar per shot but the accuracy is unparalleled for a factory load.

  • @machinegunmana I really like the Match Kings. After the new year, I may be able to get out and do some good medium range shooting (200-400 yards). When I do that, I'll probably have some high end loads with me.

  • dude you gotta come out to cali and well go shooting

  • Excellent video! Nice rifle. Love that range. Very peaceful and serene. Just a man and his rifle. Nice! Good shooting.

  • What is there more to say? Amen, bro!

  • I was wondering is that a public or private range you are using? Also I put a cheap 1 foot school ruler in my shooting bag and leave it there.

  • It's a private range. I have a few tape measures, I just gotta reamember to take them with.

  • Is that one from mitchels mausers ?? does it have a yugo crest

  • It's a German Mauser (has the x'ed out nazi marking). It also has Armscorp stamped on the other side of the chamber area.

  • Great shooting video and Kudos to you for being out there in the cold weather. I wouldnt do it. Not THIS cold.

  • It's fun to get out in the elements every once in awhile. Shooting in a temperature controlled range gets boring (I'm glad my range is outdoors).

  • Cool beans man. For some reason i find a Mauser chambered in 7.62x51 very interesting. Never seen one in person.

  • It really does shoot smooth. The trigger pull is really nice (one of the top things I like abou this one), and of course the recoil is very mild.

  • Shoots way better than my mosin.

  • Thanks. I wish I still had my old M91/30 so I could compare.

  • Not bad for crap Brown bear ammo. Wonder what some Lake city match or black hills would do?

  • @ketel1 Probably turn that 1.5 inch group into a 1 inch or sub-1 inch group if I do my part. We'll see. I'm gonna purchase some here hopefully soon and see what it'll do.
