LOL!!!!!!!!!! I was nearly doing the same with the naked eye and iron sights... first time shooting my K.Kale 98. I hit IN target 5 out of 8 shots. 100yards.
@semiautoriflelover 8mm. I have a Spanish 1893 Mauser in 7x57mm that I'll be shooting once I get back home. I sold this particular Mauser, and the guy that bought it, put a different scope on it, and handloaded some ammo. He was able to get under MOA with handloads.
@millerusaf ive got one its a bad mofo and the m38 carbine is also a nice rifle as well cant go wrong with either one especially the 5ft pumkins it shoots out great video keep em coming and good luck on your deployment get back safe
did u sight in the frount sight first left and right i hade 1 of these i got it into 100yrds on a none windy day i was lil bigger then a 50 cent peces off from the bull 'seye
Try some .308 Federal, BTHP, 168 Grain Gold Medal Match, Sierra Match King in that thing and your groups will be at 1 inch or less I'm betting. These bullets are just over a dollar per shot but the accuracy is unparalleled for a factory load.
@machinegunmana I really like the Match Kings. After the new year, I may be able to get out and do some good medium range shooting (200-400 yards). When I do that, I'll probably have some high end loads with me.
@ketel1 Probably turn that 1.5 inch group into a 1 inch or sub-1 inch group if I do my part. We'll see. I'm gonna purchase some here hopefully soon and see what it'll do.

what scope mount did you use? the only ones i've found are scout types that go above the front sight.

I bought it with the scope.

Notice the orientation of the numbers on the section of target he's shooting at and look at where the ground is... who's the idiot now?

I'm not using the iron sights at all. My Mauser doesn't have the rear sight assembly at all.
Mausers are pretty accurate and afforable rifles. I recommend everyone get one. :)

Excellent video! Nice rifle. Love that range. Very peaceful and serene. Just a man and his rifle. Nice! Good shooting.

I was wondering is that a public or private range you are using? Also I put a cheap 1 foot school ruler in my shooting bag and leave it there.
biguy525 2 years ago
It's a private range. I have a few tape measures, I just gotta reamember to take them with.
millerusaf 2 years ago
Is that one from mitchels mausers ?? does it have a yugo crest
TheRiflemanChannel 2 years ago
It's a German Mauser (has the x'ed out nazi marking). It also has Armscorp stamped on the other side of the chamber area.

Great shooting video and Kudos to you for being out there in the cold weather. I wouldnt do it. Not THIS cold.
K1ll3rM4st3r 2 years ago
It's fun to get out in the elements every once in awhile. Shooting in a temperature controlled range gets boring (I'm glad my range is outdoors).
millerusaf 2 years ago
Cool beans man. For some reason i find a Mauser chambered in 7.62x51 very interesting. Never seen one in person.
ketel1 2 years ago
It really does shoot smooth. The trigger pull is really nice (one of the top things I like abou this one), and of course the recoil is very mild.
millerusaf 2 years ago
Shoots way better than my mosin.

Thanks. I wish I still had my old M91/30 so I could compare.

Not bad for crap Brown bear ammo. Wonder what some Lake city match or black hills would do?
