  • Still a thing i can't forget. Once sweden made a movie that moved my. Only thing is famous for is happy porno movies. And that after "Det sjunde inseglet"

  • Awesome film. I'm not a horror fan and only rented this after a bizarre conversation with the in-laws about Swedish cinema. That was 6 months ago but after this beer I'm going to watch it again.

It's creepy and sad and suddenly surprises you with violent moments, moving moments, it's so cold you don't even notice the suspense sometimes, masterfully shown through children's eyes so that everything looks like a normal part of growing up... A beautiful nightmare.

  • @spnmemories

This is the trailer for the original Swedish film Let The Right One In :)

Let Me In is the American re-make x

  • @85devilsreject

Actually Let Me In is a British remake

  • @chloelee12

Actually it IS an American remake, its classed as an English language film :)

  • @85devilsreject

It was made by Hammer Studios a british movie production company. So just because it has the English languge doesn't make it an American remake. It is infact a British remake, they just decided to use American actors.

~(Sarcasm Mode)Because you know LMI is set in New Mexico so of course iit makes sence to use all white actors and have it all be in English. I still like both movies though. LMI just a smig more, in my opinion.

  • Sooooo is this the UK version of "let me in"

Or the American made of version of this "let the right one it" ?

  • @spnmemories its the swedish version, its just the uk made trailer to promote the swedish one.

  • this film is brilliant, its so eerie and dream-like!

  • who goes to the effort of clicking the dislike button for a trailer? 0.o sorry but that's kinda sad......

  • This arrives today via netflix. Excited!

  • @Elazul2k was it to your liking ??

  • @droog1967 Yes, it was really good. I highly recommend it! Going to see the American version sometime soon probably as well.

  • I've read the book, is the movie good? I'd love to see it. I've seen the English remake but it rather disappointed me by how different it is to the book, and the way they changed the names.

  • @Nonie0 watch the original, in Swedish with subtitles, is my advice :-) in Swedish the title means Let The Right One Slip In, but looses a little something in direct translation. A Swedish friend told me that.

  • @droog1967 Cool, I actually ordered the blu ray dvd and it arrived in the post last night, I'm actually about to watch it right now!

  • @Nonie0 i hope that you enjoyed it ? i think i will watch Let Me In sometime, i was put off by the fact the Quarantine was a carbon-copy of REC, a film which i thought was outstanding. If only because the author of LTROI wrote the screenplay for Let Me In, which he also did on the filming of LTROI. i think the American (Nation) psyche is more than a little hung-up on notions of gender, sex, youth & beauty. Which is where i think the differences between the two films will fall, we'll see in time.

  • @Nonie0 the book is A LOT better than the movie

  • @TheAmanda509 I thought so too, because Tommy wasn't the movie, and the whole thing with Håkan after Eli bit him was cut out, and all that, but I still liked the movie anyway.

  • FUCK THE REMAKE

  • Yeah theyre gonna call the remake "Let me in". Appearently thats the best they can come up with.

After watching it for a while people will probably go "let me out".

  • @Gunnar125 just saw the trailer for it... : ( they took a beautifull piece of art added some "dramatic " drums in the background that anouncer that always says the same fucking thing this summer bla bla can a young boy become friends with a vampire.... or her lunch.. more dramatic drums GAAAAAAAAAAAAAA its horrid. : (

  • I wonder John Ajvide Linqvist thinks about an American remake. It's true.. the American movie market is bound to fuck this one up.

By the way, John is one of my literary heroes and I adore this book and movie.

  • @littleroom333 He is very pleased at the idea oddly enough. I think it's because thier showing stuff from the book that was not in this movie, like the vampire who made Eli.

As an American I have to say I love this film and thought the same thing as every one else, that were going to fuck it up, but I'm actually liking the cast. No name big names, just good actors. So will see.

And I will all so add that I'll take a 100 bad remakes of this over more Twilight films!

  • @avalonroad i agre with you i saw the firth one in DVD and lost interest in the rest i love this movie

  • Oh love this,,,, why make it again though? if it is too subtle for an american market, then it is too subtle, remake die hard instead

  • i lovedddddddd the book! it was sooo good.

i hate that the americans have to ruin it :l

what is with them changing their names?! Owen and Abby???? and the locations? i mean, New Mexico?!

and Let The Right One In sounds wayyy better than Let Me In.

    this sucks -.-

  • to get this straight I freaking love this movie ans book.

but we americans have to remakes i am fine with that but there are a few flaw

    1. they changes Eli and Oskar's name to Owen and Abby

what is up with that there a tons of kids with those names

    2. They have it take place in New Mexico

The movie and book took place in a place with snow NEW MEXICO DOES NOT HAVE SNOW they could of easily have take place somwhere like Michigan

    3. the americans suck at remakes

  • and they're calling it Let Me In!

  • The name change was because they didn't want both movies having the same main character's names. By they I mean both the original movie makers and the ones remaking it. They left others the same, like Virginia.

As for the setting, they wanted it to be different. Everything suggest that at least till now they have been faithful to the original movie. Yet it seems they wanted to do somethings in order to distinguish each film from the other.

  • Also, it gives them the chance to explore the movie's atmosphere in a different way than the original. There is only one Let The Right One In, and no movie will surpass it. The remake is a different movie that gets it's plot from an already existing one. No need to complain. If you don't like it then just go back to watching the original.

  • @thedarknight307 If Eli's name is Abby in the american version, is that a short-name for Abbott or Albert? :p

  • @korjeklokismo If you're thinking about Eli's true gender with that, then the American version is ditching that idea completely.

  • @seranastarflower i don't know if American audiences (on the whole) would go for the eunuch-vampire love story, it's further blurred by the role of Eli being played by a girl in the film. The whole crux of the Swedish original is that it isn't about gender or sexual intercourse, it's about a vampire, an immortal, supernatural creature, that has no need for sex or reproduction. But, needs a faithful guardian during the daylight hours.

  • @korjeklokismo Abbott if it's a guy but for a girl it's short for Abigale. and Abby isn't a short name for Albert it's actually Al.

  • Was the shot at 0:58 in the movie ?

  • yes..

  • It was pretty good :p

  • EPIC. My all time fav. vampire movie EVER. and ever. whenever...amen.

  • U right. All time fav. me too.

  • This movie has been on my mind for a few days now even though I haven't seen it in 3 days. It's hauntingly beautiful and it stays with you like a vague dream.

The interactions between the two children are so real and poetic that i get goosebumps just thinking about it. Whoever hasn't seen it yet go buy/see it. I think if you've already come this far due to curiosity, then you owe it to yourself to just go and buy/see it.

  • @kickliquid you're so right. I finished watching it hours ago and I cant get it out of my mind. Such a freaking great movie. Defintely a favourite of all time, couldnt agree more

  • I take it the film is in Swedish with English subtitles? Or am I mistaken?

Any help would be much appreciated.

  • Yup, it's in swedish with eng. subs. But on the dvd you can use english voiceovers, but the voices are really weird.

  • DO NOT WATCH IT WITH THE ENGLISH SUBS...UNTIL you have seen it with THEIR actual voices...... the WAY in wich they speak is as much important to the plot and story as a soundtrack is to complement the scene.

  • @LiLiLuv7 What's weird is if you hear the voiceover and read the subtitles. Two different translations. You see one word and hear another.

Best thing to do is watch with subtitles. Forget the dubbing. Voices don't sound natural anyway. Never really do in any dubbed things.

  • Yeah Its in Sweedish and there is English subtitles

  • The best scene of them all wasn't in the movie :(

    Tommy and his prize... <3

  • no words to describe... fucking amazing movie

  • Amazing movie...!

  • don't make us snore. if you hate it, it's YOU, not the film.

  • I'm currently reading the book i'm up to Saturday November 7th, What scenes does it miss out?? :(

  • no UK release date?

  • 10th of April. ;3

  • It's the best movie ever made, no doubt about it.
