My disdain for Africans only exists due to my knowledge of their disdain for other African descended people around the world. A lot of Africans I've met have stated they believe they are the gold standard of black people around the world but when I look at the state Africa is in especially in comparison to African Americans then I get a little annoyed.

@Latimish- There is no hurt or anger at all for me. There is however pride in the fact that I'm AFRICAN american. My disdain for Africans only exists due to my knowledge of their disdain for other African descended people around the world. A lot of Africans I've met have stated they believe they are the gold standard of black people around the world but when I look at the state Africa is in especially in comparison to African Americans then I get a little annoyed.

You making assumptions based on the very limited sample size of africans that you know is just as bad as an "African" assuming that all African Americans are ghetto and have no education. I am an African who has no negative toward MOST African-Americans (the ones that feel the need to live up to the stereotypes, this goes for Africans too). And one more thing, Africa is an entire continent with very different cultures even within each country.

He visited Kenya as a boy and was so disgusted with what he saw, he NEVER wanted to return. This is in his bio. He is culturally African American, not Kenyan. All AA's are descended from Africa so you could say the same about all of us, however we've seen the War, rape and murder that Africans do to other Africans and it disgusts us too.

@olegaita Obama is African American culturally not Kenyan. His Kenyan father deserted his mother while he was out making babies with other women around the world. Obama visited his Kenyan relatives as a child and was so disgusted by what he saw he never returned to them. What does say about Kenyans? Obama is one of there sons and yet he claims our people, not Kenyans. Slavery politics and civil rights? I think you need to do a little more research before you type.
