@Kitsune987 I've actually found that hot dogs work just as well if not better. Amphiumas are active pretty much all year round down here so you should try it today!
@N0SWEATOFFMYSACK I'm directly across the state from you on the east coast. It's quite likely that you could catch some salamanders in a funnel trap over in Tampa. Just be sure to check the trap the next morning.
@dodopo234 I've never tried it that far south but I'm sure it's possible to catch something very similar to this. You might catch a lot of exotic fish as well though.
@oscarsaremylife10 No. It's actually a type of salamander that is rarely seen and it lives its entire life in water. One way you can tell that it's not a snake is because it has no scales and it's very slippery. Snakes actually aren't slippery to the touch.
@animalinteractions what this is nessasary uhh this is my least fav part then u put it like barely in the water u wanna catch a real prize put it in the middle swim out there if u have to then mabew u wont get slippery mudpuppies so much der then when u do get them use them as bass or walleye or even sea trout bait or other stuff u live in florida cathc a python or water mocasin yay that uld show u got balls

@MastaMarcus1 you bite the heads off? That's....sanitary xD Seriously though, respect for life is a good thing. You sound like the biggest backwoods redneck hillbilly I've ever found LOL
@Spring1234777 no really i was born and still live in south dakota fishing hunting cars and girls is my life im 11 and wats the biggesst fish uve caught i already have a proud angler it was a pike 17.73 pounds 41 and 1 half inches at the time when i was 10 it was a inch in a half smaller than me ya i am backwoods ednek i lice in stupid blackhawk the smallest town in the world not but its pretty small about 3 miles down the raod is a springfed pond why not go fishi it wngith some friends huh
@MastaMarcus1 Respect for life is the most important thing you can have. Most people don't have it as children, and some never get it. Girls should not be your life and you should not be posting comments on youtube at 11.
@axolotlwithexotics is the pitfall trap the one with a barrier that kind of channels any wandering animals into a "pit"? I've never used one of those and I really don't feel like it would be real effective for salamanders where I live because there's only one kind of terrestrial species where I live. I'd probably end up with a lot of toads and inverts. Sorry man. Maybe you should show one! :D
You have no idea how much I appreciate that! I'm not very busy I do need to get my butt out there and make some more. hopefully we'll find some snakes.
lol i wanna try this but I cant kill mino XD

@MastaMarcus1 I was just communicating that I'm not a psychopath that enjoys killing things, that it was necessary for the trap to work effectively.
