@10drs That may sound easy to you, but to other players, it's hard switching controls. Especially if people are so used to shooting with RT (or R2 for PS3 users)

I use a PS3 controller for my PC and I play just fine with default controls. I'm also a pretty decent player as well.

If you have your charge shot maxed out and your exceed bars all filled, you shold DT then you see Nero's DT with a dark blue aura, it's badass.

As Nero, remap your gun to the right trigger, it makes it a lot easier to charge while fighting. You can do it as Dante too, but you'll have to remap your change sword button.

Charged Shot 3 is arguably one of the most important skills in Nero's line up. The ability to stop whatever a boss is doing cold with it is invaluable, not to mention how it turns all the more annoying enemies into total jokes. I mapped it to my right button so I can always have it charging.

same with ex-act (1 slot) but the timing is extremely strict. Literally 1/60 fame window (ex-act is around 5/60 frame window)

Solved, thanks. I've just finished DMD mode, that was hard. Super players available...but they should have changed the look of them a litte IMHO. like in DMC3 for Dante.

while in the middle of attacking just hold the trigger and it will charge...  it wont shoot because your in the middle of slashing your enemies

For my entire gameplay run on Devil Hunter mode, I never saw what was so special about Charge shot 3 cause I never let it charge. I always thought that when it turned blue that meant it was ready xD.

Today I changed the controls to let it always charge and I played bloody palace, and learned how much I missed out on such a great move. It also got me the Smokin Sick Style achievement when I shot the Angelo's energy ball back at them with Charge Shot 3.

hint: you dont need to dodge everything, grab an enemy an use it as a shield (hold devil bringer)

if an enemy attacks and you block u get style for that too, try it.

@MechanicalSperm yeah I think (my opinion) Nero is both a beginner charatcer and a intermediate, he is easy to use but at the same time still has alot of things to learn about his attacks and strategies to use with him, while with Dante you'll have to learn how to use all his different styles and skills to master playing with him.

i don't use exceed much.. but i remembered all the combo's possible for the sword. my favorite is the combo where u attack one time. wait awhile, then keep on pressing the attack button, nero will keep whacking the sword like a babarian

The MAX-Act was a little tough for me as far as timing's concerned (You can see that in this video!)

I haven't played this in a very long time simply because i've been too absorbed in other games, but I might get back into this and try improving on the max-act shown here ;)

Agree with you, MAX-Act is very hard to time because of miliseconds of difference will make it either Ex-Act or MAX-Act.

No it doesn't.

You have absolutely no control over what happens with automatic. I've not actually known it to MAX-Act at all, and even the EX-Act is erratic.

If you could though, post a video up and i'll happily be proven wrong.

Automatic is still for noobs though. 8)

I think its more luck than skill, most of the time i get Ex-Acts, but only sometimes i get Max Acts.

practice, practice and practice. basiclly you need to get the feeling when to press.

i practiced by keep doing it untill i got full meter befor every fight, wich made me get the feeling of it. i think by standing still, maybe 20 min, and keep trying to get max act to work will be enough. there is no luck in it, only good timing.

just by hitting a second too fast or too slow you will end up with ex-acted. ( im not saying you will get it all the time, but practice is the key) hope it helped

max act was only ever meant to be recieved on luck. the more exceed you miss the greater the probability your next successful exceed will get you maxed, however for someone who gets their exceed after every swing the probability is only about 1 in 10 that your gage will go to max

i kinda suck at using max-act but its like i can't get it to fil in fight but in if i try it in my no enemy combo practicing its goes flawlesly thats why i get sss combos as nero wery often but as dante almost every third of my combos is sss btw i have had dmc4 for 2 days and i haven't ever played dmc game before eaven not watched so maybe i'll get better whit time

CS3 is best suitable against certain enemies, like white knights and frost, so it's a must for all advanced players; plus it increases your stylish meter drastically.

If you're not a fan of Charge Shot you're not using it enough. Simple as that. CS3 tears through everything. It's easily one of Nero's top five skills.

Like pageisbest said, change your gun attack to RT (360) or R2 (PS3) for easy charging. After about a half hour of practice it feels totally natural.

The 360 is playing through Composite which is horrible but it works. I've got the cables split so it's both playing on my TV aswell as plugged into the capture card at the same time.

Hold in your X button while you're comboing. It CAN be awkward but if you've bought Charge Shot 3 for it, it's more than worth it.

i suggest changing the gun attack to Right Rtigger if xbox 360, and R2 for PS3, Nero doesn't use it only dante. In this way you can charge and not ruin your combo

I'd say your EX-Act timing needs some work, but the fact that you're charging Blue Rose for a lot of the vid makes me excuse that. Good job. Wish I had a capture card so I could post my own stuff, my EX-Act/MAX-Act timing is getting absolutely scary, I can MAX-Act the first hit of Nero's combos about 80% of the time now.

Actually, after watching a second time I realized you may not know how to EX-Act Nero's special moves. Unlike his normal combo attacks you don't pull LT just as the move hits; the timing is a bit different and varies based on the move. If you don't know the timings I can tell you 'em.
