  • my favourite song since last month

  • This first riff is just like forever by kamelot

  • @RafaNuke yeah i thought i was only one reconizing :p

  • proud to be from faroe islands :-)

  • Good song for females who follow Fraya and Odin. Female warriors of the Nordic path.

  • this is magic!!! 100% pure metal and elevation!!!!

  • Tyr is badass.

  • This language is Icelandic? And if so is it easy to learn if you already speak swedish?

  • @speedconcerto The language is Faroese. I know that for a fact because I am Faroese

  • @vertyy And its a beautiful language, and so are the Islands, i can't wait till get an opportunity to visit

  • @speedconcerto wont be that hard no, considering they have basicly thesame intonation in whole scandinavia. The way they speak in iceland is basicly thesame way we all spoke in scandinavia before.

  • Faen ja! Jeg kan ikke slutte å høre på Týr! Er det noen Nordmen her eller?

  • @Ceplir Det er det. Åsatruer eller ren musikalsk interesse?

  • @Dreamwar Actually, the intro was derived from Edvard Grieg's classical piece, Solveig's Song, from the Peer Gynt Suite. He has other brilliant compositions as well, and is among my utmost favorite composers. This piece of his is simply immaculate, and it happens to be one of my favorites :)

  • 240p finally some real music

    Tá høvdingar hildarleik hevja

  • Veiða valkyrjur

    Og fáur kann feigdini forða

    Í ótali

    Fækkast frægir

    Økjast einherjar

    Flúgva valkyrjur á val

  • From 0:15 to 0:25, sounds pretty much like Forever from Kamelot clean version, probably just a coincidence...

  • @gohabsandwings Both this and Kamelot's song is derived from Solveig's Song, from the Peer Gynt Suite, by Edvard Grieg.

  • 240p... we meet again.

Still, awesome song. I can recognize the beginning melody, where is it from?

  • @Corrosive1 It's from Edvard Grieg Solveig's Song from the Peer Gynt suite, it as also been used by Kamelot in their song Forever :)

  • @Dreamwar this comment made my day :')

    Thanks a lot\m/

  • @bethanyviollette The intro is actually one of the pieces of Peer Gynt by the norwegian composer Edvard Grieg! Read the description :)

  • @vertyy o...kay i guess :)

  • Luego brilló un rayo desde Logafiöll, y de él salieron relámpagos; luego aparecieron, en el campo del aire, un grupo armado de Valkyriur: sus cotas estaban rociadas con sangre, y de sus lanzas relucieron rayos de luz.

  • beautiful....

  • lo, this was related to a Torsofuck song...

  • @NikkElektrik haha :D

  • @NikkElektrik Torsofuck is a great band :)

  • okay, don't hit me, but i know this melody 'coz of sweetbox' "trying to be me" ...

not to compare them, i don't like doing that.

what i like is this song (: awesome band,it was love at first listening ♥

  • @RukySpooky some songs just randomly have similar sounds that means nothing :)

  • VAKKER :'(

  • YOU WILL REVIVE FROM THE CAOS IN MY MIND, WHERE WE STILL ARE BOUND TOGETHER

  • I'm always listening to bands that speak another language, even though I can't understand whats being said the language of music is universal.

  • @dvssk8er3 I suggest you start by learning the letters and how to pronounce words and verbs, then read through the texts and try your best to pronounce it right, then translate and learn through it :) studying icelanding here in sweden, so its not hard for me to learn as our languages is similiar. but still worth it, you can learn soo much :)

  • @dvssk8er3 YES! And I rarely try to decipher lyrics in songs if they're not perfectly clear; they just become another instrument in the song that adds to the beauty.

  • When I close my eyes foreveeeer :)

  • @MrsChadam nice one ! :) But its actual "Edward Grieg's Solveig Song" :) But yes, its also used by Kamelot :)

  • even if i dont understand the language....this is so fucking epic....see them on Summerbreeze 2011 MUST SEE

  • Most beautiful piece of music ever written....

  • i prefer the trombone version hahaha

  • i love listening to this song while sitting on the cliff of this mountain, watching the sun set, near my house. it's one of the epic moments in my life. the gold sunlight shining over the landscape, a beautiful song.

coffee, 1.50$. munchies, 2$. cigarettes, 8$. a beautiful TYR moment a top a mountain, priceless.

For everything else, there's Master Card... I just remembered, I have a Visa...

  • The beginning is from Solveigs Song from Peer Gynt by Edward Grieg :-) Beautifully integrated!

  • really this song is addicting..

  • yea, edvard grieg + tyr = masterpiece

  • oh nice!

  • I'm forever impressed by the work that Tyr can produce. Great instrument work; amazing vocals and the theme of our ancestors. These men are true modern Skjalds

  • Love it<3.

  • týr er tad besta í føroyar hevur at bjóda uppá... eisini føroyar bjór :p

  • Tyr 4 ever

  • I love this song!

  • The intro is actually one of the pieces of Peer Gynt by the norwegian composer Edvard Grieg!

  • Yep its Solveig's song from Peer Gynt

emedemetal, you should correct the description, it will be much appreciated

  • ok, thanks :P

  • @akushiii

Tyr has even stated that the band's music is primarily composed of existing elements and that the other band Heljareyga is the one with original pieces from head-to-toe.

Never the less, Tyr is one EPIC band. Powerful, Progressive, and Beautiful tracks. I love the vocalist's output and wish I had a voice like his - it's so out-of-the-world-like beautiful. The music, it's not like that typical prog garbage where one waits for the solo for epic guitars & it's damn epic.
