@MidnightDreamer1313 Quasimodo gets married? noo! It's a title of Hugo's chapter. But it means Quasimodo comes to Esmeralda's grave and dies hugging her.
Gods I want to see this again. When I saw it I was in 5th grade, had no idea what was going on slept through most of it, and only realized aftrwards the similarities to the novel. Now I can't remember it and want to see it again.
I give Disney kudos for doing such a dark story, and even keeping a lot of the really dark undertones. I never really understood it when I was a little kid, but when I went back and watched it a few years ago, I flipped out and I realized what I'd been missing.
So, I read the book. And I fell in love with this story.
I adore this song, and Notre Dame de Paris. Claude Frollo's my favourite character, actually. And the play did him justice (:

@Cheyanneasaurusrex Oh my god same here! When i was 5 i saw it at a friends house and did not understand a thing, but i still loved it. I would sing Hellfire around the house all the time. But then in third grade i read the novel because i loved the movie , but then realized all the themes of lust and infedlity. And rape and stuff...FROLLOS MY LLOOVVVEE!
Okay, I haven't got to see Notre Dame de Paris (yet) so I was wondering if they actually kept Jehan Frollo in it. It seems like he's the one character that none of the adaptations keep. I guess because it kinda takes some of the hate off of Claude Frollo, but still... I've heard that this musical is the most faithful, and if they kept him in it, it would be pretty much perfect.
The Disney movie is worth watching. It's not that bad... some of the music is actually really good. "Hellfire", if you're a Frollophile, is particularly enjoyable. ;-)
well, in my opinion the english version isn't that much worse than the original french, and the singers are the same, but phoebus still sounds better in the french (don't ask why^^). so i like your video :D
Well, after listening to the original French version, this one seems to lack 3 important things: the lytrics are loosely transalted (of course everything gets lost in translation), Patrick Fiori as Phoebus (this other guy is not that bad but I don´t like it that much), third, the sumptous and decadent feeling of French cadence over English. Still good.
"Without my God inside I'm just a burning shell" that's my fav fav line... but what's a shell? I can understand the whole meaning of the sentence, but not the word.
a shell is an outer body or covering. a shell of a person is someone who has no soul, only a physical body. they have no substance or personality to them, they just exist.
if you have ever read the harry potter series, an example of a shell is someone who was kissed by a dementor. i guess that the word that i'm looking for is soulless.
Ah yes, I know about the Dementor's kiss, that's right. I should have thought of it by myself ;-) I knew a shell was that thing out of a sea animal, like a crab.
It wasn't too bad in Hunchback of Notre Dame. It was dark enough. If they had it too sad, I don't think parents would've been too thrilled with it. xD
Nice! They should've put this song in the Disney version(except for the dancing naked partxD)! What better than putting a "Notre Dame" song with the Disney Notre dame movie:)
btw Frollo sounds a lot younger in this than the Disney versionxD...
Nope, it's the english version of the Song 'Belle' from the French Play: Notre Dame de Paris. Its much better in French. If you wanna hear it just type in 'Belle Notre dame' and the first one will probably be the french version.
in the Notre Dame de paris play, the other version of Hellfire is "tu vas me detruire" (or in english "your love will kill me" pls check both versions are on you tube, posted several times (including vids with scenes from Dysney).
Wow beautiful job. I loved how you flowed all your scenes with the lyrics. How can I get the English version of the CD? How were you able to get it? Please let me know. ^^;;
wow! that was so good! iv never herd this song before. is there a play of notre dame or sumthing? i loved it tho! wonderfully done. i assumed that the 'cross of human sin' thing was like questioning her humanity. because if she was a demon or sumthing she wouldn't 'bear the cross of human sin'. does that make sense?
This song is part of the English version of the French musical "Notre Dame de Paris" based on Victor Hugo's novel. The entire French show is posted on here if you want to see it. Unfortunately, there aren't many clips of the English version. wow. I actually love this song in it;s italian and english version, and you did an AMAZING job!!!! As for: does she bear the cross of all our human sin", it's actually showing how far Frollo has fallen, it's an allusion to jesus and virgin mary, that despite her gypsy nature she has to be a saint for him to be so obsessed with her. Then he concludes she's from hell, but ah well... ANYWAY! it's wonderful!
yay someone used the english version... the nly thing that lets the english version of belle is that it is far less risque which I beleive really is needed to show the sleeze of frollo and pheobus.. not so much quasiemodo.
