DO NOT get involved with JRP!!!!!! They will take your money. I'm now out $560.62 from auditions this past weekend....nothing about money was mentioned the first day(Saturday.) Then my daugher and her husband went again on Sunday as my granddaugher was accepted. They were told it would be another $1,700.00. The classes would be just on Saturday for 5 weeks. Break that down and it comes to $430 per session. Save that money for a reputable company, and unlike us, do your homework beforehand
I went the jrp years ago and the people there were very rude to me. My friend also went there and said she found out it was a scam. I told my dad about the company. He went to the headquarters for nick and disney and asked the workers there about the company. No one there had ever heard of it before. Isnt that a bit strange?

They are a scam and the first day money is not mentioned, however if you're chosen, which you probably will be, then you are called back the next day, and that's when the money is mentioned. I'm out $560+ and an additional $1,700(finally realized this didn't feel right.) I contacted the Better Business Bureau and was told they are not on the up and up. Do more research!!!!

If this were a real scam, these offices would not exist thru out the country.. however, they are like a bad lawyer and go against the customary trend .. meaning, they charge you first to get you auditions..what they r doing is legal, altho unethical. it seems some pple have success. just be weary if u go thru with it and read the thousands of complaints out there on the internet.. REMEMBER: A real, legitimate agency will NOT charge you..And the best ones won't even charge you for head shots!
There are many complaints out there for JRP..I believe, they have offices across the country. This would be a GINORMOUS Fraud if that's the case..They may consistently get sued and complaints, but the more I research, the more I realize they are just a badly managed company..If you want to take acting classes go to a real Film School like NY Film Acad..This Agency may get you auditions, but ANY real agency will not charge you til you win auditions and get paid.. customary is 10%

These people are not accredited by BBB, and when you call them after they get your money you get an answering machine.......that is if you're wise and have done your homework. Google "ACTRA Toronto no cheques list" and read for YOURSELF the agents and schools considered scams within the industry. Parents need to do some research, and they need to understand that JRP pays employees to come on websites such as this one and pretend to be kids posting positive "reviews."
I just watched a video of someone who said it Was a scam. I'm currently taking a 7 week acting class with JRP. It seems legit to me I think its all based on opinion. If you graduate and dont go anywhere with it, sure it may seem like a scam. But for those who get their name out there, there's potential.
But I see it from both sides. I'll keep my eyes open for any shady requests or things I didnt agree to. Nowadays you can never be too careful.

john robert powers is SO not a scam!!! I've been on auditions for nick, disney, 17, vouge, and tons of others. I took their classes, the teachers are so nice and I learned a lot. I agree. JRP is NOT a scam. I went there, JRP Chicago. It's up to you to make it in the industry, they just give you the tools to do it with, they will not hold your hand through the whole way, you have to do it yourself. :) So, for all the negative comments on here, sorry you're not good enough to be in the industry, but don't hate.

DO NOT get involved with JRP!!!!!! They will take your money. I'm now out $560.62 from auditions this past weekend....nothing about money was mentioned the first day(Saturday.) Then my daugher and her husband went again on Sunday as my granddaugher was accepted. They were told it would be another $1,700.00. The classes would be just on Saturday for 5 weeks. Break that down and it comes to $430 per session. Save that money for a reputable company, and unlike us, do your homework beforehand

I went the jrp years ago and the people there were very rude to me. My friend also went there and said she found out it was a scam. I told my dad about the company. He went to the headquarters for nick and disney and asked the workers there about the company. No one there had ever heard of it before. Isnt that a bit strange?

They are a scam and the first day money is not mentioned, however if you're chosen, which you probably will be, then you are called back the next day, and that's when the money is mentioned. I'm out $560+ and an additional $1,700(finally realized this didn't feel right.) I contacted the Better Business Bureau and was told they are not on the up and up. Do more research!!!!

I see all theese videos about it being a scam, this is the first video I have ever seen of it not being a scam. I am very unsure of the JRP program........ i'm not sure if your paid or asked to say that.... but im glad theres atleast one video saying its not. I went to the cattle call for it in florida but he never called back. So i'm not sure if I should go to the next one or not. weeelllll gtg

Cuz i recently went there to audtion in little rock, arkansas, everything went well until i got to the money part. Now ask yourself, why do you need to pay to work for someone when they aleady telling you that you will be great for commercials, acting, and modeling? If this were a real scam, these offices would not exist thru out the country.. however, they are like a bad lawyer and go against the customary trend .. meaning, they charge you first to get you auditions..what they r doing is legal, altho unethical. it seems some pple have success. just be weary if u go thru with it and read the thousands of complaints out there on the internet.. REMEMBER: A real, legitimate agency will NOT charge you..And the best ones won't even charge you for head shots!

There are many complaints out there for JRP..I believe, they have offices across the country. This would be a GINORMOUS Fraud if that's the case..They may consistently get sued and complaints, but the more I research, the more I realize they are just a badly managed company..If you want to take acting classes go to a real Film School like NY Film Acad..This Agency may get you auditions, but ANY real agency will not charge you til you win auditions and get paid.. customary is 10%

These people are not accredited by BBB, and when you call them after they get your money you get an answering machine.......that is if you're wise and have done your homework. I have called several times and emailed them for the money that was promised back to me if I decided against it. Never a phone call or email. You're better off to take drama in H.S. or college because these people keep wanting more and more. Check them out!!!

Well, @DyMeEh just proved they are ANOTHER paid shill for JRP. I work full time in the industry, and neither Smuckers nor anyone else hires non-union performers.
JRP training is absolutely worthless.
Google "ACTRA Toronto no cheques list" and read for YOURSELF the agents and schools considered scams within the industry. Parents need to do some research, and they need to understand that JRP pays employees to come on websites such as this one and pretend to be kids posting positive "reviews."

I just watched a video of someone who said it Was a scam. I'm currently taking a 7 week acting class with JRP. It seems legit to me I think its all based on opinion. If you graduate and dont go anywhere with it, sure it may seem like a scam. But for those who get their name out there, there's potential.
But I see it from both sides. I'll keep my eyes open for any shady requests or things I didnt agree to. Nowadays you can never be too careful.

@MsFabulous15 Sadly, you WON'T get your name out there. They hire actors to pretend to be agents and directors, and NO LEGITIMATE AGENT OR DIRECTOR would EVER have anything to do with them. You spent a ton of money for nothing, and don't be surprised if one day a real agent tells you to NOT even put their training on your resume. It is absolutely worthless.
Their "teachers" have fewer credits than the students. (By the way, you can always check someone's credits in 5 seconds on IMDB.com)

I go to the Boston one. I have been accepted. I have done lots of research. I havent really started but alot of people are saying it is a scam and alot are saying its not. Im confused because it is so much money but its been around for 90 years, and lots of success stories like Josh Duhamel. Idk The BBB didnt give me much info either so idk. I agree. JRP is NOT a scam. I went there, JRP Chicago. It's up to you to make it in the industry, they just give you the tools to do it with, they will not hold your hand through the whole way, you have to do it yourself. :) So, for all the negative comments on here, sorry you're not good enough to be in the industry, but don't hate.

(To all the haters) My 12 yr daughter is going for FREE... If its such a "scam", how do you explain that? Not a cent out of my pocket, and the Nashville location is in a REAL building, with REAL classrooms, and REAL teachers. Okay, this is why i know it's a scam; LOOK! I have firends that are well known photographers, managers that work at Elite Model Management, one of the best agencie there is. they know what a scam is, and told me JRP is a scam. if you need classes don't take a class that has a agencie behind it. (scamsign) dont pay them they pay you. Sorry but it is a scam, they make you believe its not. there allready useing you. just be smart. there is like 10more scam sign i can tell you but comment don't fit.
