I want him to perform all of the old songs exactly as they were first recorded and then do a bunch of farewell tours like the Who or Stones. That never grows tired!
Actually, I thought that the entire concert was inspired and have infinite respect for Plant who, obviously, never wants to be a cliche like is 60's counterparts.
Clive killin that drum set!!! wowwwww he can be the softest drummer with Portishead and he can be the must rocker and powerful drummer with Robert Plant!!
Plant inserts his 'arab' influences in a high-tech rendition which is STIMULATING. And THAT's what music should be. THUMBS UP, why not? This is how one stays young... bringing new life to old wares! Great musicians accompany him here.
The best version of this song ever. I cannot listen to Hendrix or Deep Purple's versions after knowing this fantastic cover.
Robert Plant was the one and only man on earth for all these long years who understood the true meaning of this song and its lyrics. It is one of the most tragic and powerful songs ever written and he sings it that way. Pure genius.
@AbsintheDream I could not agree more. What a bunch of pretentious, self indulgent crap. And to think someone paid money to sit though and listen to this. LMAO is right.
Just so everyonw who is calling blasphemy knows, Jimi didn't write Hey Joe, it was written and recorded by someone else, and continues to be re-done. Enjoy the different spin for what it is-its different! If it sounded exactly the same, all the same people would be chastising Plant and co. for not being unique!
