  • Wtf is this shit?

  • @henrytdsimmons. Music.

  • no mola, la de jimi es bastante mejor, incluso la de Band of Joy

  • i like this more than hendrix!!!!!

  • @petebacon joder macho

  • Shame Robert Plant can't sing anymore.

  • I want him to perform all of the old songs exactly as they were first recorded and then do a bunch of farewell tours like the Who or Stones. That never grows tired!

Actually, I thought that the entire concert was inspired and have infinite respect for Plant who, obviously, never wants to be a cliche like is 60's counterparts.

  • Clive killin that drum set!!! wowwwww he can be the softest drummer with Portishead and he can be the must rocker and powerful drummer with Robert Plant!!

  • is that a lute the guy is playing ?

  • Plant inserts his 'arab' influences in a high-tech rendition which is STIMULATING. And THAT's what music should be. THUMBS UP, why not? This is how one stays young... bringing new life to old wares! Great musicians accompany him here.

  • @andreaprodan Very well put man! I totally agree, I love these Middle Eastern touches that Plant uses.

Please check out my cover of this track too, if you get a minute....

  • tô encantada!! uau.... gênio...continua um frontman absoluto!

  • ...gee some people just want exact renditions of the originals otherwise they feel insecure and criticise

Variety is the spice of life - thats what they say anyway.

This is a fantastic interpretation of a classoce Hendrix number.

In Jazz, interpretation is the driving force - anything goes

  • Too bad, Sir Plant.

  • what in the hell was he thinkingf?

  • jimi is turning over in his grave

  • @ROMEORAUNCH Why? Jimi didnt write it.

  • great , best of late 60s early 70s inventiveness , full marks to Robert et. al.

  • this is unfortunate.

  • This is amazing i love this version haha its sooooooo 60's hippie metal lol

  • The best version of this song ever. I cannot listen to Hendrix or Deep Purple's versions after knowing this fantastic cover.

Robert Plant was the one and only man on earth for all these long years who understood the true meaning of this song and its lyrics. It is one of the most tragic and powerful songs ever written and he sings it that way. Pure genius.

  • Is this a song from Al Quaeda?

  • This what happens when you put Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix and some random indian experimentation crap into a blender...

  • Where you goin with that money in your hand....wait what?

I see he's catering to the libtards lately.

  • man this is beyond bad lmfao, robert plant is such a wanker

  • @AbsintheDream I could not agree more. What a bunch of pretentious, self indulgent crap. And to think someone paid money to sit though and listen to this. LMAO is right.

  • Way to ruin a legendary song. Plant covered this in the 70s and nailed it, what happened?

  • This is the most interesting cover I seen in a while. I dig it. Cheers to Plant for not resting on his laurels and still pushing boundaries.

  • @TheBassoProfondo hell yeah, this was fantastic! im happy he pushed it into new places

  • Just so everyonw who is calling blasphemy knows, Jimi didn't write Hey Joe, it was written and recorded by someone else, and continues to be re-done. Enjoy the different spin for what it is-its different! If it sounded exactly the same, all the same people would be chastising Plant and co. for not being unique!

  • Sounds awful

  • it`s actualy interesting

  • STFU HATERS. guitarst is great, bassist on the dot, and plants voice and movements are something that can NOT destroy a song. for me it is great, oh yes, i havent mentioned the drummer, but noo need, look at his Ludwig!

  • OMFG THIS IS SO STUPID...... YOU JUST FUCKED UP SUCH A BEAUTIFUL SONG.....

  • Well this is one way to fuck up a great song

  • Jimi is turning in his grave over this ... This Plant obviously needs water .....

  • a lil too far from the original, can't say I like it. Its not so much a tribute as a completely different song with similar words and the same title.

points for effort I'm a big Robert Plant fan, but this is a lil too out there for me as I'm also a big Hendrix fan

  • GOD.. Wonderful.

  • This verson would have blown Hendrix's mind. Though what would Hendrix have done with it today?

    Still a terrible loss.

  • Brilliant...

  • Can someone install a distortion pedal to that Indian 2-string guitar?

  • If this song was named something else instead of "Hey Joe", You would like it so stop complaining.

  • universa180 i think yu hit that one on the head think it's terrible and i like a lot of Plant's solo work.Gary Moore does a great cover of this song and red house

  • I'm sorry but I find it totally crap....and it's so damn'far from Jimi's sound and style

  • @johnny4blues So? Have you heard the Leaves version? Before Hendrix and better than hendrix.

  • @RyleeStrange yes, thanks for your suggestion :) I checked it out and I must say it really rocks...yet I still prefer Jimi's. Also there's an awesome rendition by Gary Moore, have a look at that one too...

  • so this is what Robert Plant is doing instead on touring with Led Zeppelin these days

  • Totally different interpretation, I like it!

  • what a brilliantly eclectic cover version

  • So funny how easy people criticize music on youtube, when at the end of the day, why are you listening to it if you don't like it? and also, if you think you can do better then upload yourself on here and see what people think of you.

If not, move on to the next song to moan about.

  • This "Strange Sensation" makes my balls hurt.

  • He was better in Led Zeppelin

  • Jimi would would be saying "what the hell?"

  • Nightmarish. Then, the words are fitting for this, a cold blooded killing.

  • Vorrei che qualcuno mi spiegasse cos'è !!!

Robert ti potevi risparmiare questa cosa

  • Deary me! not his best!!

  • Come on, this is not Zeppelin and is not Hendrix, its Robert Plant performing and shinnig, why compare??

  • plant really shines.....this is a cool gig here...so abstract from hendrix...but in a unique way...im impressed.....kudos

  • wow.....

  • i fuckin love LZ and Jimi Hendrix but this sucks pretty fucking bad

  • WTF this isn't Jimi Hendrix hey joe it a fucking crap !!! the lyrics that he sings are fucking wrong !!!

  • ShIt

  • this band is good

  • pretty kashmiri sounding.

  • non plus ultra!

  • Blurp so fking bad cover

  • 20 seconds into it ........ dumb as fuck

  • Strange. It sounds like Led Zeppelin's experimentations in live !

  • this may make your local butcher proud, c'mon, realy?

  • Both versions are wonderful. This is completely different but beautiful. I think taht fits well the lyrics.

  • Idk how this is a tribute to Jimi Hendrix if, Jimi didnt write he covered it himself and made it his own, and Plant didnt do one thing from Jimi's version. it just plant trying to do a cover but ended up killing this song.

  • he should get rid of these scrubs and do the world a favor and call jimmy p up

  • as I said zepp is a crew, not one man show.

  • what the hell? this was terrible! jimi would be shocked!

  • @universal80 Who cares about Jimi (well, usually I do, but not now)? It's not his song! He only played a very good version, but definitely not the only good one or the ultimate version.

  • im not feelin this at all isnt even close to original

  • @shreddie2101 It's a cover version! Good cover versions are not "close to the original". Who needs a cover that sounds like the original?

  • well...i thinks its pretty damn cool

  • I love Robert Plant but this is awful

  • he destroyed that song. one of the worst version ..oh man awfull

  • i can not good speak english , i find Robert Plant is very good. .. . . i love this , and Gary moore and Led Zeppelin is beutiful ...i love this songs ;)

  • LoVe the way PLaNt does this song and the band is VeRy creative

  • Robert is such a Great Musician , but this version of Hey Joe is just not good , it is said to see what People can Create .

  • @MrFenderstrat1995 Seriously it's so much more interesting to see him do new stuff in stead of playing songs with his old band which is missing a crucial element (John Bonham)

  • plant is ok but I miss the young plant and his onstage persona

  • Robert what the fuck is this??? Get your act together and tour with zeppelin again with Jason Bonham. Thumbs up if you agree...

  • terrible ahahhaha

  • hey whipping boy without Hendrix's version no one would have even heard of the tune. the leaves; who the hell are they anyway. neverhasbeens i take it, just like you.

  • Did someone say William Shatner?

  • Jimi Hendrix my arse. The Leaves. Look into it. Fuuuuuk Hendrix in his dead arse. And Plant should have been planted long before this perverse rendition.

  • horrble

  • THIS SHOULD BE CALLED "I BLOW" NOT "HEY JOE". HOW ANNOYING.

  • ill never get tired of watching it!!

  • ТВОЮ МАТЬ!!! Это что такое??? Я ждал совсем не этого!!! Это уже совершенно другая песня!!!

  • horrible cover

  • i want to kill that guy with that small guitar looking thing lol its sounds cool but hes just to fucking annoying!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This is what happen to Led Zeppelin when Jimmy Page is not around...

  • just sucks

  • This was fucking immense

  • The best Hey Joe I ever heard!!!

  • ALTOOOOOOOOO TEMAAAAAAAA DEL VEJETE ROBERTO PLANTA

  • this is great...love Robert Plant and Led Zep but these guys look like cavemen, in a "LOST" episode, the guy with the weird instrument being the leader of "the others", and the guitarist being Caribbean John Frusciante.

  • Is this being sung by a security guard?

  • why pick on hey joe? They should have picked on la Marseillaise if they were so inclined. Robert will turn anything into gold but hey joe is too strong to be rewritten.

  • Plant at his best again!

  • When the LP Physical Graffiti was released, a prominent reviewer stated that it "erred on the side of audacity". I commend Robert for reinventing a standard, but find that the aforementioned review applies here.

  • crap

  • its different ..... I like the deep purple version though...no disrespect.....

  • is that john frusciante over there on the guitar? :O

  • eerie..nicely shot...cool cover

  • This might sound good to some music luvers but to me it is purely egocentric, nice tabla influence of eastern mysticism, but it lacks the soul of Tim Rose I am now 68 and heard all versions including Henrix which came second to Tim,s I like Plant but this is complete self indulence he should feel ashamed in his twilight years he did not make a better version.

  • Zep + Jimi...wow

  • I love this! All those haters should shut up!!

  • the only thing thats the same is maybe 2 rifts and the lyrics, but if you forget its a cover it stands pretty damn well on its own

tim rose hey joe > jimi hendrix hey joe sorry

  • @smileydevil420

    nothing touches hendrix, sorry

  • hmm... the whole set is full of product endorsements.... crap GK and Laney out front, but Vox stuck in the back...lol.

The drummer is playing a Bonham Maple Ludwig too! ;-)

  • Sorry if I first heard this I would love it, but this butchered Hendrix :(

  • what the shit is this?

  • @DreamTheaterisGod1 not dream theater! lol

  • I guess there is such a thing as too much acid

  • Just because the music is orchestrated differently doesn't make it "bad" I dig this! i think is refreshing! =)

  • what the hell if that drift wood with strings? either way it sucks like this cover. i love robert and zep, but come one man.

  • no dis-respect to zeplin but this gotta be the worst cover of hey joe i ever heard

  • Terrible

  • Those fans are creepy..

  • I THINK HENDRIX WOULD LIKE IT ... IT'S TOTALLY PSYCHEEDELISHUS !

    dig ,.,.,.

  • This was what Plant was best at: Taking a song & reinventing it to make it his own. Only in the early days, he reinvented obscure songs & took credit for writing them.

  • shit

  • i dun like it :D

  • nice theme, great performance, conceptual rock. Really impressed. Plant is not only about great vocal, but his is also a sculptor of music and this composition certainly layed down another standard of quality. There certainly are the genes of Lad Zeppelin, but it sounds absolutely new anyway. I think that even carpets were perfect.

  • amazing again. led zeppelin forever!!!

  • the " Bendir" and the "Sentir" are the instruments used here :) moroccan stuff just like me :)

  • i'am sorry i just don't like it....

  • wtf, this is terrible. i figured since led zeppelin was so great at ripping off other people's songs, this would be pretty awesome.

  • @necroforest Its not led zep its just robert plant who was in led zep.

  • strange but good in a strange way

  • PISH

  • Great band and great new Robert Plant!

  • I am a huge fan of jimi. I am a huge fan of robert. but this is way fucked .. hmmmm .

  • Oh yeah! Me likey!

  • totaly abstract version, .....but I like it!

    sounds great!

    very good inprovisation!

  • king made mistake

  • This sounds closer to the halloween theme than hey joe...

  • @alexwithin "Hey Michael, where you goin' with that machete in your.....oh, OOOOHHH FUUUUUU......!!!"

  • killed a classic

  • super version !! chouette chouette !!!

  • its fucking aragon jamming on the guitar

  • That guy on the ukelele thingy was playing his ass off...sounds weird...

  • I like this. It's great, daring... in spite of the ukelele man, lol. And Plant sgot the energy, man!!!

  • Just an FYI...it's "Douchebag" not "Douchbag"...LOL

  • Mr Suga ....you are wound just a little tight. By the way, if "they all sucked after Zepplin"...who was the guy playing guitar in your video? Good to hear you know about open tunings. That is most impressive! Now are you aware of what a min-major chord is? major13th? Dim7th? Locrian scale? In4 different positions? The 3rd inversion of a min7th? The Blue note in a Pentatonic scale? Not trying to bash you, only bringing to light the original idea. The guys in Zep "Got Tired of the Same Old Songs"

  • Sorry, but the members of Led Zeppelin have crap solo carres. I LOVE Jimmy, Robert, John, and well John, but (except Jimmy in the Yardbirds) they all sucked after zeppelin.

  • @mrsuga123 Really sad to read this comment. why would you want to compare the two separate projects. Doing this only sets your self up for disappointment. The solo careers would be the envy of many bands that have never seen this type of recognition. Sometimes people get tired of doing the same old and need to get a different approach to express themselves...even Zepplin.. This video probably went way over your comprehension of what they were trying to achieve. Familiar with 7/4 timing?

  • @mrfinksta First off, don't think that you're a musical genuis. I do know what that means, I play guitar, know about open tunings, DADGAD, all that stuff. The truth is that I feel no emotion in this music. I feel no connection or enjoyment. In zeppelin, they couldgo from rock, to reggae, to blues, to folk rock. Familiar with being a poser, high horsed, douchbag?

  • @mrsuga123 Well, just for your information, Jimmy was in the Yardbirds before Led Zeppelin was created, and Led Zeppelin was originally called the New Yardbirds.

  • @Valcarion Yes, I am aware of that....

  • @mrsuga123 Alrighty, just making sure, since your comment read:

(Except Jimmy and the Yardbirds) they all sucked after Zeppelin, implying that the Yardbirds were after Zeppelin.

    Just wanted to clarify.

  • @Valcarion Yeah I worded it wrong. if you look at my favorites, many of them are about led zeppelin documentary's and stuff.

  • Great energy! Hendrix himself would have approved

  • How to take a masterpiece and turn it into rubbish.

Jimi must be rolling in his grave.

  • Great energy! Hendrix himself would have approved.

  • This was bad.. Like really bad... Very bad.

  • V E R Y - W E I D ! I ..........I - L I K E !

  • Amazing performance! The most original cover I´ve ever heard... I like it!

  • His speaking voice is really strange here, isn't it?

  • dissapointing

  • i have a strange sensation that was really bad

  • Great!!!!

Robert Plant reinventing himself and using his voice as an instrument again.

  • C-R-A-P

  • suck version.

  • oh the ball hair banjo twang twang ding de la ling plinkey plonkey twang

  • ...

  • wtf is this?

  • Plant lost it....

  • this makes me want to rock out and belly dance in a strange sort of happening way even Nefertitis would feed you grapes Mr. Plant

  • WTF is this xD

  • it's the 1st time i see a yukaleellee(or whatever)man rock so hard

  • 141 users who liked the real version!!

  • moving those hips still make him sooooo sexy :D

  • gay

  • i was waiting for arther brown [of " fire " fame ] to come crashing out of the flames in the background to finish with "fire" , complete with flaming helmet . now that would be really cool !
