  • @Yuruia If it's devonport, you've got two of them there right now. Sneaky things.

  • stealth gun? more like "scare gun"

  • Whoa!! Nice!!

  • I think the enemy must be thinking it's a floating pyramide of plastic coming towards them or something because that's what it looks like

  • @SMGJohn Plastic? You mean the biggest carbon fiber construction in the world... =D

  • fuuuuuuuuuuuck my heart!!!!!!!!!! is jumping like crazy

  • @mrnintendoplayer1000 i fell off my chair XD

  • @simonen96 LMAO i had my headphones on with max volume!

  • Isnt there any better video on youtube of the gun then this???

  • @peterahjorter Check out the USN's new LCS 2 Independence (corvette).

  • @MrJeffreydunson Yeah it looks pretty cool, but you can't argue with the Visby being both more beautiful, versatile and sexy.

  • @wellerocks Yes, your right on that point. Yet, I do have just one concern, and that is, if the gun's housing is every struck by some live enemy gunfire ( on a lucky shot !!! ) How will the stealth operating panels work or open, if so damaged ?!!

  • @MrJeffreydunson I know that the panels in front has an emergency release which will make them stay in the open position. And such a little flaw wouldn't affect the radar signature especially much. But all stealth vessels are more prone to loss of stealth due to ruptions or fractures in the main structure. It's not anything with the Visby in particular. I don't know how the USS Independence managed to overcome the fact that it has an uncovered naval gun. That should give a signature of some sort

  • @wellerocks Please, remember that the US Navy works / operates at a different tempo then the rest of the navies of the world. When or if ? the uncovered naval gun is operating or not, the ship's captain, can always request some sort of air - cover / close air support, if needed -- from the air assets of the carrier or some other unit. The USS Independence, will have the necessary personnel on - board to take good care of any maintenance issues regarding the naval gun.

  • @wellerocks i think in the case of the independence the exposed gun is coated in some sort of radar absorbing material, kinda like what they coat the f22 in... and it helps reduce the radar signature just like the stealth casing on the visby would do

  • @101andrewj, the shape of the object plays a big role in reducing the radar signature. Perhaps the ship itself produces such a large signature that the effect of the gun is negligible?

  • @tupsumato thats also true, because the ship is so big, the small forward cannon doesnt make that much of a difference on the radar, but u can be sure they coated it in stealth radar obsorbing paint anyways,

  • Is the deployment really that fast? If it is, that's pretty amazing.

  • @tupsumato less then 1 second to go from stealth mode to fire ready

  • @101andrewj, cool!
