  • maine coons rule

  • Such beauty! I love these MCcats! Your photography is gorgeous too! Wonder how mine made it to Arizona? It explains why he doesn't really fit into a regular litter box! Are there MC litter boxes? He is so gentle with little ones too! Mr personality! He is always funny and interesting! Loves my bath water and all water! He gets frightened easy which is odd given his size. He opens my door too! His name is Rhett and I'll try to post him soon!^=**=^

  • 116. 121 and 227 all look like my HANSEL! (HE is a Norwegian Forest Cat) He weighs 20lbs!

  • The cats are beautiful. And the shots of Maine are gorgeous.

  • WOW!! gotta say I do think Miss Kate is one of the most beautiful cats I've ever seen! Great video - thanks for sharing Maine Coon info as well as gorgeous photos of these gentle giants. I'm owned by three Maine Coons, who are the delight and loves of my life. They truly are the best cats and I'm happy to hear they are also the most popular. Knowing a Maine Coon is a true luxury - and in my case, a necessity - in life!

  • I am the proud Pet Parent of two Solid White Maine Coons... Bangor & Lily. Thank you for the photos.

  • Cats are sooo much better than dogs. Dogs can't be beautiful like cats :)

  • really beautiful cats!

  • Such beautiful cats - I think my mother's rescue cat is of the same breed - too much in common, at least in appearance.

  • I think my orange male cat is a Maine coon, he has features of the breed: Long whiskers, huge fluffy tale, M on his forehead, Medium length thick fur. But he's 10 months old and only weighs 12 pounds so I'm not sure.

  • hmm imthinking of getting a maine coon but how big is it ? i tried google but emm it was kinda off so maybe u can tell me? oh and is there any cats that r biger than maine coon i men like biger but still fore house

  • @NanaoKirishi They grow up to 48 inches and they can weight more than 20 pounds, and other bigger than this breed are the wild ones.

  • omg black ones lookin like Pars lol

  • I miss my MAINE COON CAT named TINKERBELL cause I had to put her to sleep on Monday

  • 1:16 looks like my Missy only the light tan fur is kina brownish blackish

  • that first pic was a turkish van....

  • The Maine Coon was domesticated well after Weegie, Persians, Russian, etc. The Weegie is likely ONE of the long-hair breeds infused into the original Maine Coon cats.

  • I have a full-blooded main coon it is a lot of work trying to keep the fur clean.anybody that gets one I will say they are very maintnence cats

  • I read somewhere that the Maine Coon is distantly related to the Norwegian Forest cat. Distantly.

  • The most beautiful of all cat breeds, the Maine Coon.

  • @JET997u yea i have one

  • Actually right now, the Maine Coon is thee most popular breed of cat in the whole world. Everyone is really going at with this cat, because the luxurious fur is enormously attractive, it is a huge cat, and it is extremely child friendly making it the best family house cat.

  • can aney one tel me what's the defferent btween maine coon and the norwegian cat

  • size maine coons can get VERY big

  • Your normal male at a healthy weight is only going to be 13-19 lbs.

  • @ANIMALESdad

They are not related at all even if they look similar.

The maine coon is bigger. The muzzle of the norvegian cat is streight, you can see that from the profile. The norvegian cat has the shape of the head in triangular form. At the MC the muzzle is more pronounced. NC has the eyes more almond shaped.

There are more differences but maybe not that obvious for someone with no experince in cat breeds :)

  • definately excellent mousers...I have seen this cat in action often.(owner had rodent problems when I stayed with her LOL)

  • I had a Maine Coon as a little girl and they're such floppy, lazy-time cats. I loved him XD

  • i have a maine coon and he is SQUAKY

  • My cat is part maine coon, a Tabby mated with a main coon, my cat has the M on his head. the long whiskers the pointed ears. big fluffy tail long hair the hair on the pats of his feet

  • my cats a maine coon cat

  • I love the music as well--who is the music by?

  • Gyönyörű cicák!:)

    Irigylem a gazdijukat.

  • Lool can u own them as regular cats ?

  • What do you mean? They are cats...

  • soz my misstake i ment house cats ¬¬..

  • those are awesome my friend said he say one in a zoo lol a guy was walking it and it was the size of his dog which is a boxer

  • ive got one named tagwa:)THERE AMAZING ANIMALS..THE BEST♥

  • i dont mean to seem rude but are they expensive?

  • I doubt it. We have a ton of feral strays that hang around our barn for the food we give them and leave their litters in our hay loft. Based on their rather unique appearance, I am certain they are maine coon cats.

  • If you want maine coons, we have tons of stray kittens at our place every year. Most of them look like the ones at 0:16, although recently an orange tabby was introduced to the population and brought a yellow/orange option to our usual black or gray.

Also, it isn't common, but I swear I have seen a few kittens that look just like Norwegian forest cats. Their siblings are all clearly maine coon (M on forehead) but the poofy white chest and white feet make me think Norwegian. Is it possible?

  • i dont live near anywere with main coons so :(

  • I'm sorry, but the "M" on the forehead is a tabby thing and no more. I have a cat who is not a Mainecoon and he has the letter "M" on his forehead because he is a tabby. My other cat, who IS 1/2 mainecoon does have an M, but, then again, he's also a tabby. I've heard people say you can tell a cat is an Egyptian Mao because of the M on the forehead too.

  • the M is a trade mark.not all Maine Coons are the same colours as shown in this vid.how can you tell if you have a Maine Coon or is part...4 things-1.3 layers of fur-2.snowshoe paws-3.long wiskers-4.trade mark M on forehead.some Maine Coons are mixed with Angora-like the black one in the vid but white.also,Maine Coons are known as the Great Danes of cats.

  • The M is a trademark for tabbies, and nothing more. Egyptian Maos have them. So do domestic shorthairs, long hairs, etc. Any cat with a tabby pattern will have an M on their forhead, regardless of breed, if it isn't covered by a white blaze.

  • @IAmHellsFallenAngel

the M thing is a tabby "patern" not all the maine coons are tabby...and as an owner of a maine coon the only thing you could tell you have a MC is the pedigree (only the pedigree), else you could say the cat just look like a MC that's all.

  • The M is part of a color pattern and has nothing to do with the breed.

  • Maine Coons are almost like dogs to me....so very much about their humans more than most kitties. Unbelievable hunters and the loudest purrs!!! One of my Coons plays fetch and will walk down the sidewalk with me...like a dog:) Such smart, magnificent animals. SUPER long whiskers!

  • I agree about these magnificent cats. I was never into cats, but when I visited my friend who had a solid black one, I was shocked at how dog like they are, and their huge size OMG. They love to chill with you all day, and very loyal to you like a dog. I love these cats so much I bought a cinnamon champion last year. All my friends and family who normally do not like cats, love this breed EXCLUSIVELY! Coons ROCK!

  • @jsoule1980 So is the Norwegian Forestcat

  • @jsoule1980 It's interesting that you said Maine Coons are more like dogs, because that is what I found with my Kitty. She is more sociable and will respond more like a dog will, than most cats I know, even our other cat, who is a sweet cat to, but she acts more like a cat.

  • @jsoule1980 i have one that for the 1st 9 weeks of his life he was raised with a spider monkey & he is something!

  • I like the Maine coons with the original brown color. It looks more natural and it is the most beautiful color for this species.

  • ya i love my maine coon cat right now hes at tuffs for his kiddneys better will survive and be fine

  • Maine Coons are possibly the best domestic cats on earth, beautiful, strong, healthy, loving, loyal...

I didn't know what a Maine Coon was when I rescued (my cat) Speck, but now I wish all cats were Maine Coons!

    Great video, Great pictures!

  • muito lindo.

  • Thanks for the compliment. The photos are by Helmi Flick as stated. The cats are a complete delight, simply fantastic.

  • Beautiful images; five stars!
