Oh dear. I hate this goon. He gets access to all kinds of stuff, and pretends to know it all. He's obviously primed up just before. He is over the top, and god help us if he ever gets on prime time telly.
I have got a very good hint for you to keeping the nice old Engines in good shape with todays ultra dry eco fuels: Use 1:100 API TC two stroke oil / fuel mix as regular driving fuel, that keeps the old fuel-system gaskets, rubber parts, alloy parts etc... and cast iron metal surfaces of those vintage engines in excellent shape...and it also lubricates the valves and upper piston regions. Most Porsche vintage owners in Germany do so :) Also keeps carbs and tank clean and rustfree
I dont think he got a roller camshaft in that engine, and if he got a flat tappet camshaft, then either he was lying about that being the engine's first start, or he didn't broke in the camshaft/lifters properly and he most likely ended with a wiped camshaft lobes, to break-in them properly you should bring the RPM to 2000-2500 instantly after it's started and keep it there for at least 20 min.
whats the difference between a 2 cams engines and a single cam engine? .. Its a general concept : a cam lobes actuating a lifter, never mind where the cam and lifter location, and never mind "how many" cams are there! .. Its simply a relationship between a cam lobe and its lifter, both will generate a "wear pattern" to each other and thats what a "camshaft break-in" is all about. Just to "educate" you a little bit about the gasoline engines technology.
Why don't you Yanks go fuck yourselves..
