Guys just be quiet! The Dragunov has a 7.62x54mm and the AK-47 has a 7.62x39 mm round. Obviously this is a HUGE difference because the 7.62x54 mm round is designed to go far but the AK-47 round cannot go far. So guys, learn your fucking facts before blathering on about untrue facts.

not necessarily, the SVD is a completely different weapon not an AK derivative. true AK Sniper Rifle (developed in the 1970s) include the romanian PSL, the Yugoslavian/Sebian Zastava M76 & M91 and the Galil Sniper. the funny thing is that the PSL in 7.62x51mm Nato was imported and constructed in the US by three different companies: Century Arms International, InterOrdnance, Tennessee Gun Importers.

The Dragunov was made to be a DMR or designated marksman rifle not a sniper rifle.
