We have two roosters A Welsomer and a Ameracana, the Welsomer is head rooster but it is the Ameracana that attacks people. The alpha rooster will teach you how to be the alpha rooster to your confused roo. Basically chase him till he drops from exhaustion. Chase him every day. when he attacks kick him like you would a soccer ball, with the side of your foot. Less chance of killing him that way. Kick him till he runs, catch him, carry him by his legs and then feed him. Aplha roo feeds flock.
Back in 2010 we got our first flock and one of our chicks turned out to be a rooster. Actually... we got 4 roos out of the whole 6! 3 roostes were nice and sweet, but the other was a nasty little son of a bitch. No one who comes to my house escapes without getting attacked by rascal! But i just don't have the heart to kill him or give him away :(
This is why I am afraid to get chickens. My dog is usually loving towards any other animal but if something came at me, even if it wasn't a serious threat, it would be spaghetti sauce in less than a minute. Then I am worried about him wanting to kill and eat more of them. I suppose I should just keep buying eggs and meat from a friend.
That's why you kick him square in the chest If he does that. Or u can pick him up by his legs and smack him around a bit. That's what we do with our roosters. Birds are very territorial and they do attack when they sense fear
It's something about your shoes he's after. If I have leather gloves on and try to pick one of the hens up or reach to pick him up he'll jump at me. If I leave and take the gloves off, He won't jump me. He's a Rhode Island Red.
Exactly. Cute EasterEgger, but you need to kick him away until he gets the idea. He is displaying dominance over you, and this kind of behavior is unnaceptable.
My rooster does this to me and me ONLY! all the time i have like 13 scars on my other leg and i havent count on the other one, every time he see's me he goes crazy:P
I once had a rooster at a fair i was working at that noone could feed or water it was so vicious. guy bought it to guard his hen house and it killed his dog! he actually shot it and brought it back and payed US to take it.
we had 2 roosters but gave 1 to a friend and he died the one we hve now is frikin mean as hell he attacks u 4 no reason once he hit me in the face with his feathers and his fat body atackd my leg he didnt cut me though on the one thing he is scard of is these huge wooden scissors ifhe attaks me i run im to fast 4 him he'll usaully just stop he doesnt hve the spurs on the back of his feet yet but ther growin in
Yeah he would be the first one I ate. I only keep runts with my hens cause I don't like a angry rooster around my girls...they mate too much...& I hate violence in my coop. this video is old ..did you eat him?
I got attacked by our Rhode Island Red rooster the other day...took a chunk outta my leg! He was only doing his job tho, I was tryna catch one of the hens ha!
Can't exactly blame you. I have some disturbing childhood memories of my grandmother's crazy rooster that would chase us in the yard. Was a pain in the ass trying to play as a kid and always having to look over your shoulder for the stalking rooster.

My rooster the same way but he's black. I'm a little guy for being 14 but I always kick my rooster if he does attack.

Yep, when one of ours did this we blasted him away with a shotgun. Its not animal abuse if he abuses you first...little fuckers.
