@adpmol If I remember correctly, a car company not mention a lot when you think of luxury brands called Hyundai, Made a car called the Genesis. It's really cheap, but the car has, yes. A leather dash. It looks like real leather not fake, and in reviews, they say it just about rides like a Lexus/Mercedes. I found that astounding. The wood just looks fake cause they polish it. BTW. Hyundai is an Asian company.

my educated guess is so that no one can just push the button and start the car accidentally, ie, a child. My guess is also that there is an interlock system, just like on newer cars with automatics that you have to push the brake before you can shift out of Park.

YES, you need to have the key in your pocket to open the doors and to start it.

you also have to put your foot on the brake pedal because the button has to also function as position 1 and 2 , like a turn key ignition. otherwise it would be frustrating to have to start the engine to just listen to the radio, or turn on the lights. not having your foot on the brake and pressing the button once will take the ignition to position 1, and pressing it twice for position 2, pressing it again turns the power off.

it's a keyless push button start. all you need is the key in your pocket and you can start it. i think his dad bought it at the dealership?
