  • Im Fagin in my school play :P

  • ever since the movie that bloody carriage effect ....

  • Thanks so much for posting this! I've been watching this video for years...lol.

  • this song is on my production!

  • Does anyone know if the kid who plays the artful dodger in this is the same kid who plays Gavroche in the les mis anniversary concert. He looks a lot like him.

  • @ShoehatProductions no his name is perry millward. he is now 18/19 and can be seen in tv drama Munroe.

  • id doanything to hear this song agian, oh yea press the replay button lol

  • this song makes me cry & reminds me of my deceased grandfather =/

  • nice

  • @Hazii24..........no.

  • I listen to this song waayyy to much..thanks Ruthie:)

  • I always loved this song. But it's sort of sad to hear the kids say to "hang everything" as long as Fagin stays aboard.

  • I do like the video a lot! They did really good singing the song :)

  • Does anyone else think that Oliver's a bit . . . gay????

  • @Hazii24 he's a kid!!

  • Oliver looks like AnnaSophia Robb :\ ahaa

  • Damn I hear that Ruthie Henshall in all musical songs I search on youtube. Not a complaint, just an observation.

  • holy shit...Dodger sounded Dodger from the Movie xD lol! wicked! and Ruthie did great! xD

  • Dude, Oliver and Dodger rule! ^U^

  • You gotta pick o pocket or two !!!!!!

  • that oliver is Balls!

  • OMG!!! that was so cute!!! im trying to get our drama club to do this!

  • who played oliver?

    (:

  • joseph mcmanners !!!!!!! :)

  • thankss

  • who the fuck cares about the costumes/

  • I think Oliver Twist was set in the 1830s during the reign of William IV, a very good man.

  • @PeterFirthFan does anyone care really? It's a musical, the only people intersted in the background should be the performers and the creative team.....the audience just want a bloody good show :P

  • @murbuzz I care. That was the first thing I noticed, actually, that her costume was entirely wrong. It shows a lack of care in the production, regardless of whether or not it is a full show or snippets, which this appears to be.

  • @Stelu i would be annoyed too. However, it is the BBC that is producing it therefore the concept of "Research" is a bit limited as it doesn't seem to be one of their strengths......am i wrong? :P

  • @murbuzz not wrong at all. the bbc has always been a mouth piece for the govt, and most of their programming is bollocks anyway!

  • I'm in love with Bet's costume...

  • Excellent.

  • It sounds to me that Dodger sounds a little out of breath. Or is that just how he sings? Well other than that, I love watching this

  • Can't get better than the original fagin or dodger!

  • this is sooo much more different than da real 1

  • outstanding performance

  • I"m not sure I liked how they did this song. It's supposed to be really syncapated and this was a bit lyrical. Haha I'm biased though. :-D

  • I like this performace of the song.

Although, i thought that Oliver was supposed to dance with Bet. Maybe it's just me...

I do really like this cast though,,,exept for I think Fagin looks too young.

  • It's not you. Oliver is supposed to dance with Bet.

  • Same. I think she sounds soo american. Also, her singing voice in this is sooooo out of tune, I dont like her when she sings. I much prefer Shani Wallis

  • Also, why didn't Rithie pick up her dress when she danced?

  • That choreography looks so much fun. I'm playing Fagin in Oliver! and I'd love to use this choreography, only add Fagin in the dancing, LOL.

  • this oliver is weird looking

  • WHAT?!

nobody is better than jack wild!

  • 2 lucasgfan: NOBODY IS A BETTER DODGER THAN JACK WILD! UR SO WRONG!

  • this is way different from the real 1

  • can't tell which is one is more gorgeous Ruthie Henshall or Joseph McManners...

    that's one girlish looking boy

    How cute!

  • Ruthie Henshall sounds strange when she sais everything I preffer Shani Wallis

  • She sings through her teeth that's why.

  • Dodger is ADORABLE X3

  • Perry is adorable in this <3

  • i,m searching for the guy in the new oliver twist, he plays fagin goes by the name burn gordon saw him on the bbc the this morning with the lady that won that talent show thing not interested in her but he was nice

  • thats Bill Sikes not Fagin !!

  • His name is Burn Gorman and he plays Bill Sikes (he's best known for playing Owen Harper in Torchwood); Fagin is being played by Rowan Atkinson.

"The lady that won that talent show" you're referring to would be Jodie Prenger.

  • the person who plays fagin doesnt look like him from the movie

  • Is he supposed to? The stage is often fairly different from movies. Did y'know that Dodger is supposed to be 18?

  • is he really?

  • no in the book yes in the movie he was supposed to be 11-12

  • i love ruthie henshall!

  • She certainly gets in character

  • i loveeeee..dodger!!!

  • me too :D:D:D:D

  • Y GWION

  • this lad who plays oliver is waaaaaaaaaayyyyy better than the welsh one in the children in need one.

  • watch?v=WR9nzOzwvJE

  • I'll admit that woman was good, but, to me, nobody beats Ruthie Henshall. Ever.

  • well said!

  • ruthie is sooo pretty =) and dodger is sooo great! my brother's school is doing oliver for their school play and i'm playing bet.

  • you mean Ruthie Henshall? Ruthie Henshall the musical theatre legend?

  • @PhantomCake LOL, so hipster.

  • Dodger is great!

  • wow Dodger's good!

  • I'd do anything for Ruthie Henshall =)

  • omg R

  • Who played Bet?

  • fagin was played by Shane ritchie!

  • man is that fagin bad

  • Oliver is okay. Fagin, however, is just plain terrible!!! The original 1968 is sooo much better!

  • The Oliver looks like a girl.

  • i think it was a girl

  • that oliver annoys me, I dont know why he just. Im not saying he's not good but Ruthie Henshall are great!

  • i thnk they can do a bit better coz i have been in 200 play at kwl lol and this drama place were i go

  • i sing this is choir

  • fagin was awful!

  • oliver looks like a girl

  • i thought he was

  • it might be a girl. a lot of younger boy parts like oliver, peter pan, all those, are played by girls. i'm a girl and i've played a lot of boys onstage.

  • It's Joseph McManners, a boy treble of questionable quality.

  • Oh leave him alone, he's only wee and he's gots some guts getting up there and performing with a ladgend as miss henshall! I say good on 'im :D

  • everyfin' hahaha, I love it

  • bet! =D!

  • bet! =D!

  • Ruthie henshall is absolutely amazing!!!

  • My grandson played Oliver at the Palladium approx 11 years ago with Ruthie Henshall and Jim Dale. He's now a carpenter.

  • Oliver wreckes the continuity in this scene...wen does a homeless orphan speak R.P? if dodger can do an accent..sure he could too....annyoing!!!!!

  • Lol I was thinking the same thing, maybe he learned the how to speak the Queens English on the streets of Victorian England!

  • Sillies! Oliver always speaks excellent English. That's one of the points of Dickens novel. Breeding will always show through. I don't believe there has ever been an Oliver cast with a Cockney accent, so don't blame Jospeh who could certainly do an accent if required. Oliver grew up in a workhouse in N. England anyway, not within sound of Bow bells

  • i love her xx

  • the little boy is Joseph Mcmanners thats playing Oliver

  • the little boy playing oliver reminds me a little of Keria Knightly! :) its very good!
