What's with this annoying modern trend to sing Scottish folk music in this affected husky voice? Not attractive in the slightest. Maybe it's just to conceal the fact they can't sing for toffee. Or maybe she should just stick to singing her own music.
you mean Karen Matheson ? Karen is the best. She sings perfectly, technically and artisticly. Her singing is incredibly elegant. Gemma Hayes takes risk singing it a cappela. And she's often out of tune, and out of breath. It's not a great version. But anyway, Gemma is a nice singer even if she has still much to learn.

ok its not the best version ever, its accapella.
she has a fantastic voice tho.
as for eddi readers version being the best, i have to disagree. she milks it for all its worth, throwing in a grace note at every oppertunity!

Very nice. And accapella also. Not the easiest thing to do.

Hmmm...quite nice, really, but I feel the version sung by Lordinksworth is worthy of merit.

hm.. not bad, some different tones and words like in eddie`s version.. I like Eddie`s much more..

I agree with everyone else Eddir Reader's version is miles better than this.

Sorry but this is a poor version. Both Eddie Reader and Karen Matheson are miles ahead.

Nope. Mine is the greatest ever. Rab came down and entered my soul when I recorded it.

this is a nice song but Eddi Reader, the Scottish girl, from whose country this song hails, does the song proper justice.

Good copy but PLEASE listen to a SCottish singer Karen Mathews to hear this sung with real feeling.

this song is hauntingly beautiful. Rabbie at his best. Gemma's voice makes the hair on the back of my neck stand on end.
