well, i got a problem, the game dont lag for me without mods, they give a lag here or there, ussualy when i am using a horse, but early i downloaded a companion mod, i get him to follow me, but when he follow me the game begin the damn lag....i cant play with that lags
Thanks a ton, huge performance increase. I can play any game highest settings no problem, but can get slightly laggy sometimes for some unbeknownced reason, cheers!
@harryhardest The job of your processor is to process whatever instructions are thrown at it. This will have no ill effects on your processor, unless you have a slow single-core machine where it might drop your fps by a few.
If you make two side by side windows, one with the textfile and another with the .ini file you can edit them way faster. Having them overlap like you do may be the slowest way to accomplish what you are doing :)
i just got my newly built pc today and installed Oblivion (GOTY edition) and it looks pretty crap - on start up it set graphics settings to medium (which confused me as the pc is a gaming pc with decent HD graphics card and dual core processer etc)
if i change the settings like in this vid will that push it up to max grpahics settings?
@spinksy173 No, you should set the graphics settings independently. This just splits some of the oblivion tasks into different threads for better performance on multi-processor machines.
By changing system, crss.exe and services.exe priorities to realtime, I can set oblivion to realtime without XP freezing, and it adds onto this with another 10-15%+ solid performance by allocating as many CPU cycles and resources as possible to the game.
I'm only using a Pentium 4 541 Prescott 3.2 ghz w/ hyperthreading @ 4 ghz, 4 GB DDR2 RAM 800 mhz dual channel @ 1 ghz same with FSB and a eVGA 8600GT SSC 256MB DDR3. Framerates are very consistent maxed at 1280x1024.

There is no evidence that this actually improves anything. I tried it on my q9550 and it had zero effect.

Is doing this procedure SAFE for processor?
I mean this is not an official Bethesda instruction....

@harryhardest It doesn't do anything at all.

Ty for this video, it has helped alot.
Perhaps in the future when I have a 30 core cpu and 5 way sli, I can run Reaper's Coldstone town mod properly XD

@Videogamedude188 Does it work with Hyper Threading on Pentium 4 processors?

@KeyToTime You may see some benefit with HT, though you may not. Make a copy of the files before you change them so you can easily go back.
