But nonetheless, I think she really added her own emotions into the rendition. I know she's had a tough past, not sure if it involved rape, but she really added dimension and made the song her own. I think it's one thing to cover a song, but she wasn't lazy about it like most artists she changed the song to match her style rather then trying to change herself while still honoring the original.

It's all about context. Florence writes songs from personal experience and adversity. A strong theme can mean anything. If she writes about sex, drugs, violence etc. It is because she has had a troubled past. She's not using notoriously sensitive subjects for a cheap buck, or to propel her fame.
