  • Oh dear! Much too fast I'm afraid.

Joy and spirit are misplaced in this song - it's a lament for victims of the famine.

  • Please don't change the words to a classic.

  • Very talented individual. Unfortunate arrangement.

  • sorry beth, its a shocker!

  • Tradition is something that cannot be forgotten, that gives our lives a context and depth. With that said, I can't see how it could be a horrible thing for a beautiful young soul to breathe her own joy and spirit into a voice from the past. The Ballad Police should perhaps loosen up a wee. No disrespect intended, I simply come from a place where traditions from thousands of years in the past meet a new world and new, fresh eyes.

  • Too fast!! The young lady obviously has no understanding or feeling for the song.

  • This song is much deeper than Beth seems to understand. It's not a happy, upbeat song. To combine the tempo with these lyrics is wrong, and displays a lack of depth and attention to the story and the heritage behind the lyrics, which are now pointless in such a delivery.

  • Sounds great at that tempo to me. The whole point of doing a cover of a song - be it old or new - is to make it the performer's own. Infuse it with a bit of your own spirit. Well done!

  • tooooo fast

  • Was it necessary to speed the tempo of this deep song so much? It's not a bloody rock'n roll, darling...
