  • You can really see Muse in these recent years where Queen has really become a major influence to them, even though they always were an influence to them, you can really see it now.

  • Good job Muse stealing music from a real artist (Chopin)... untalented thieves.

  • @teejay89656 Yes, it is a riff from Chopin, but I don't think that's a bad thing. I have no inclination that they are trying to take credit for something that Chopin did, rather, they are paying tribute to a great artist. I think, in an age of Bieber and Rebecca Black, it's nice to know that there is at least one band who knows a great artist when they see it. I love that they did this.

  • @thespleenenator Yeah im just trollin. Hee hee ^^.

  • @teejay89656 the idea of this album was to write down songs based on classic music xd

  • insane piano riff

  • even the picture reminded me of Queen

  • what is the name of the chopin song at the end of this? i want the sheet music :D

  • @joshbell95 Chopin nocturne op.9 no.2

  • @BuzzingFridge thanks :D

  • Not a bad queen trib band :)

Very clever and very well put together little hints of floyd in there as well :)

  • Not a bad queen trib band :)

  • This song and Exogenesis Symphonies prove Matt B's genius.

  • Nothing short of a tour de force. Pulls you in like the ebb of the tide and then crashes over you like a wave.

  • doesnt the chorus sound like a mix between russia and arabia

  • love this song so much. matt's voice is more powerful here since he did not use his falsetto voice here. they should place this song during the international day of peace :)

  • Kinda reminds me of Bohemian Rapacity at some points, fucking awesome song.

  • @Left4YoMomma rapacity? haha

  • @aaronwestlakemusic Lol i knew it was spelled wrong but my spell check is retarded sometimes :P

  • how does this different songs call??

  • @xxannanassxx collateral damage thats the piano one with the little kids laughing.

  • 1:33 and 2:56 I love those parts most :)

  • @GreenTwiMuseDay12 thats a little bit like indy jones 2 theme music

  • I love this song! I love their contemporary use of Ravel's Bolero

  • iono why prince of Persia came into my mind lol

  • It's like "Queen" meets Canadian band "The Tea Party" mixed with Chopin. Bizarre.

  • Love the Tea Party feel to this track....

  • Chopin > Muse

  • it sounds like music for an indiana jones movie.... i like :)

  • Why no Nineteen Eighty-four references here, There is a few in the song.

  • @CptSwordy

Because very few people actually read that book as a hobby.... although you are correct I am a bit surprised myself.

    Ministry of peace anyone?

  • @Lilyonsan I must stay faithful to the ministry of Love, where there is no darkness.

  • @CptSwordy Ya know it's a damn good thing that I am a prole. They don't watch us as much as they do you people...

  • @Lilyonsan Proles and animals are free and have about the same intelligence.

  • @Lilyonsan Now that I think of it...

  • the piano is a chopin nocturne... awsome...

  • Eura-SIA! SIA! SIA! SIA~!

  • 2:56=epic

  • MUSE RULES OVER ALL!

  • Matthew Bellamy is a GOD.

  • @Ness1908

the first time I heard Muse I said that Matt was playing the guitar like it was a piano and I didn't know his background, but when I listened to New Born I realized he was a sort of god! Those 3 guys are really good musicians!

  • This always gives me shivers...totally the best band out there.

  • Can you say... goosebumps

  • Oh gosh! I love the end part of the song!!! It's so soothing and ORGASMIC!!! Haha! Oh gosh!!! I LOVE MUSE!!!

  • i have all the allbums from muse and i abslutely love them

resistance is the best album ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • o.O chopin as the end to the piece...? interesting... muse is awesome XD never heard that part lol thats friggin awesome though! respect to chopin, such beautiful nocturnes :*)

  • 1:34

I was like "uh Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom?" Listen to the song Slave Children's Crusade and you'll know what I mean. And no I'm not implying that they stole it and yadayada.

  • if you guys havent seen them live... heres some advise. DO IT.

theyre so amazing, me n my mom went to see them for $260!! and it was TOTALLY WORTH IT

  • me n my mom lol rock n roll

  • YES lol we love them!

  • fair enough

  • @x333ximonlyhalfevilx

im gonna see them... and i just cant wait!

    bye

  • damn, that was an expensive ticket :p but yeah muse is a great live band. One of the best out there

  • I was thinking more Bohemian Rhapsody meets Kashmir

  • 1984 meets Bohemian Rapshody

  • I'm debating if it's actualy a Queen influence or a ripoff, but the song is soooo good so as long as Brian May likes it 'nuff said.........read 1984 if you don't know the inspiration to the lyrics

  • there sooo genius with music!!!

    Muse 4ever!!

  • hee hee, I just subjected my parents to Muse. I blasted 'Black Holes and Revelations' on my stereo. My mom was mildly intrigued by the classical riffs.

Noticed the Queen influences, but so what? I'll take intelligent music over stupid pop crap anyday. Muse rules!

  • I think Freddie would have loved it. We know Brian May likes it a lot.

  • i love this sooo much (: x

  • yeah they remind me much of queen in this song but only at sone parts when they harmonize with each other lol i so cant spell anyways I find no queen song like this and even tho they sound similiar it doesnt make then copy cats they made this song fair and square and diffently deserve awards for it I mean its such a meaningful song like all thier music keep at it guys and please visit victoria id love to see u live:)

  • I can't stop listening to this.

They definitely used Queen as an influence on this song, and I think it's wonderful. They're not completely using Queen's style, I can still here Muse-esque touches to it, such as the little piano riff at 1:35.

Freddie would be delighted to hear this masterpiece, in my opinion. :D

  • Definately a rip off of Queen, but it did queen justice as its an excellent song, it pays a good tribute to queen and Freddie would be proud!! Its nice to have some modern music that is as good as Queen!

  • Hey this picture looks like the beginning

of the clip bohemian rhapsody by queen

    I love the 1:34 - 2:00 part

    best band ever

  • It even sounds like Queen... but it's a great band anyway.

  • what is that Chopin piece at the end. It's delightful.

  • It's Nocturne probably Op.9 No.2.

    Omg muse.. best band ever!

  • the picture reminds me of queen's bohemian rhapsony pic. the song though is on a different lvl from queen. <3 MUSE

  • apparenly they were being told they r so much like queen so they tried 2 make this song as queen-ish as possible

  • Can you please stop saying it's Queen? All of you stop! It is no no good when you treat a band like that. They are doing the best they can and the result is awesome, and the worst thing you can say about a band is that they look like someone else or that they are trying to be like someone else. This is really sad and I feel sorry for Muse now, so please stop this madness :(

  • how is it queen ?

this subject matter isnt used by queen, neither are the lyrics ?

is it so wrong for a band to wear their influences on their sleeves ?

  • I think its awesome that pretty much everybody immediately thought... Woah, its the new bohemian rhapsody!

  • what if freddie mercury lived again and queen reunited, and collaborated with muse??

  • It would basically sound like this.

  • their new album is good but not the best

it is wonderful but the old albums are much better

their best album is origin of symmetry (my opinion)

  • modern day queen

  • Sounds more like Kashmir from Led Zeppelin than like any song from Queen.

  • this is Queen for the 21st century, its fantastic!!

  • funny.... (constantinos9) i was also thinking on QUEEN

  • link broken =(

  • Every band has their inspiration. This song sounds a lot like Queen and and a bit of Led Zep.

  • Sounds like bohemian rhapsody.. matt are soo into queen..

  • the link no work fool'

  • Thank god Queen are back....who are the Muse this video is referring to...:)

  • love the epic ending

  • love the arabic feel to the beginning

  • This is a mind-blowing album. It's absurd that some ppl expected to listen to Black Holes and Revelations again or any of their previous albums. This is a badass, epic rock band that is actually multieargasmic for most of ppl with a taste in music. And if you all ppl know to appreciate their message, you'll be in 7th Heaven after 5 secs of listening t the whole album.

  • @josephine9975 the album can be listened to in it's entirety in only 5 seconds?

  • @UAbass01 no, I meant after first 5 secs listening to the album it'll be enough for you to be absolutely positive about how awesome this album really is, and still different to their previous albums.

  • @josephine9975 That's probably the greatest comment I've EVER seen.

  • @KingOfPowerOh well, thanks alot. I think is true ppl want to have in Muse a band like MEtallic which I like, but I don't think they're able to create really new things inside their own style, if you know what I mean, they're quite good, but it's kind of a safe choice cos in the end is always more of the same.

  • @josephine9975 this is a great song, and album but i am still a bigger fan of there older stuff. i mean, nothing can beat hyper music :)

  • @josephine9975 I love all muse albums and songs , but I hate It when people say "I hate new MUSE" this is a new fresh muse and im sure that next years album will be just as mind blowing as every muse album before (BRING ON THE RESISTANCE WEMBLEY !!)

  • @josephine9975 You know, there are 6 songs of Muse I don't like. 4 of them are on Resistance. And Resistance is more commercial, more unoriginal (look at the first half) and less Muse as I think. Dunno if this has anythin to do with the wish to become famous in the US......I'd say: first half for the US, 2. for the rest of the world, that's the concept of this album.

  • @josephine9975: Resistance is for Muse what the A Night in the Opera was for Queen. Best album and a breakthru on a global scale.

It's easily the best and they made it big after releasing it. So, yea, viva la Resistance!

  • WRONG! True the album is not an usuality but is not about the sounds but about the message they are trying to send and i'd say muse has continued that message through all their albums

  • This is progression. Awesome !!

  • I'm sick of people saying that the resistance isn't their usual sound. Muse have made a masterpiece in The Resistance and i personally think it's an ingenious turn to take.

  • I agree. I'd say this is arguably their best album.. or at least definitely top 3 material.

  • United States of Eurasia !

    Long life UE ! : )

  • sick!

  • I love how he plays Chopin's Nocturne in E-flat major at the end of the song. Its one of the greatest pieces in music.

  • one of the best bands around, i think The Resistance will raise them to the highest echelons of rock music. they are just so amazing, only bands like lez Zeppelin and co are abover them, in my opinion

  • the right comparison is with Queen....especially in this song

  • Comment removed

  • Origin of Symmetry + Absolution + Black Holes and Revelations = The Resistance

    BRILLIANT ALBUM.

  • Hmm.. this is actually kind of true.

    This album is brilliance indeed.

  • It doesn't sound like Queen, there's only an influence, and it's ok ;)

I can recognice the-Muse, the originality and the concept that Bellamy and the band wanted.

    Muse rules \m/

  • I"M SEEING THESE GUYS IN TAMAPA OCT. 9th! Even though I live in NY, lol

  • Just saw this live in Teignmouth!!! Oh yes!!!! Who wants to touch me?

Seriously tho, this song just gets better when you hear it live!

  • this song is about heros from Orwell's book?

  • It's actually from 1984. there are 3 superpowers: Eastasia, Eurasia and Oceania. These 3 are constantly at war. The war keeps people in fear and creates production.. aka... an industrialized nation. There is no goal here but to maintain the people under control, fearful and with an illusion of freedom. why can't there be 1 nation? like he alludes in this song... because there would be nothing to control ppl with. read the book, it'll change your view on life.

  • there are no heroes in Orwell's book. Bradley got it right.

  • also is it just me or does Mathew have an strange accent ?

like at 2:33 he says "they just pwomise"

  • you mean strange from his English accent?

  • @reonat Lol, I don't know if you're seriously asking the question or are referring to the widely known fact that Matthew has difficulty pronouncing the letter "R." But it sounds (to my ears, anyway), like he's saying "promise" pwoperly ;D

  • Does sound a bit like Queen, it's a nice homage.

    It's a nice song anyhow.

  • dont be a dick

  • how can you NOT like something that sounds like Queen. you must be a terrorist lmao

  • Some of the mixed reviews I've read made me doubtful. Now after hearing it, I feel like I have to apologize to Muse fore ever doubting them. The music is great. This will complement the fast paced songs well and pull it's weight in the album. Also loved the Chopin at the end.

  • Muse has transfered many classical songs into something fantastic. They renewed and made those songs better IMO.

I had to play a classical song last time of my teacher and it sounded a bit like A Soldier's Poem...

  • This song sounds like something like what queen would do in a way and i like it

  • indeed.

  • This song has really grown on me, Now i can't stop listening to this song. September 14th seems to long to wait!

  • People think the new style of Muse sucks but I think it's awesome. Muse is awesome. This is a great song.

  • Favourite band of all time.

  • matt's big on dystopian ideals... there are points in his music people miss. you have to THINK... this isn't bubble gum... however, i DO wish he'd rock out more. and i still feel Absolution was their best work.

  • i am not sure about this but "uprising" is a great song and muse are the best of the best!!!!!

  • Fantastic song! OK, they sound a bit like Queen, but as far I know that isn't bad at all. As long they don't sound like Lady Gaga it's fine for me :). And why don't dare to play Chopin in the end? When I look for descriptions for Muse they tell me "a rock band with classical influences". But in the end, this whole song is just a great composition of Muse that makes me look forward even harder tot September 14th.

  • 3:20 is soooo queeen :D hope so muse doesn't copy all artists in their new album.

  • hahaha, people fighting on the internet....

  • Cazzo che bella! I Muse non si smentiscono mai mai mai

  • Sorry but im very disapointed about the new album ( and also the last one ) .. I thing they lost their inspiration...

Honesty , play a part of chopin .... the worst is that he plays chopin like a newbie.

  • He's better than you.

  • What do you mean the last one? That's the best Album!

  • don't take yourselves too seriously here people

  • shut the fcuk up! who the fcuk are you to say that! its obvious ya cant see past the picture... bender!

  • see past the picture? are you going to say anything of any value or just swear a lot and call me names? maybe your gormlessness is preventing you from seeing things objectively.

  • muse are one of the greatest bands of our generation and ur sayin all that shit over one bloody song! look at the likes of knights of cydonia, stockholm syndrome, new born all great songs! matt, chris and dom howard are lyrical genuis's and you've lost all respect for them over one song... adevine ur a sad sad lad... one song of a new album of wat 11 songs... songs u havnt heard yet and ur sayin all that! wow its influenced in lil bits by other musicians...

  • all music is... its jus the development of other styles... pink floyd wit blues etc... so before u go sayin more stupid shit... take a moment and think about how bloody stupid you sound! ya twat!

  • It's not that it's influenced LITTLE bits by other musicians. It's that half of their song sounds like Queen, and the final two minutes is Chopin's Nocturne in Eb major. That takes no creativity whatsoever. We're seeing with Muse what happens with almost every great band: they run out of ideas and resort to what sells records. Do they have some great music in their past? Yes. But that doesn't change the fact that this song isn't creative in the least.

  • this song sucks. muses' new stuff seems to have no substance to it whatsoever. I want Absolution back.

  • i thought the same when i heard this, but its quite creative to put all those elements into one song wouldnt you say? this is just experimentation, matt said that this was a lighthearted take and its supposed to make you smile, so they seem to be aware of what they are doing here, and how it comes off.

  • You're joking right? I mean, they merged Queen, Chopin and Asian/African and wrapped everything in Muse goodiness. Result = EPIC win. This takes some real creativity.

  • @AcidGuardianPT Mat Bellamy is a genius of our time

  • @AcidGuardianPT asian not african

  • @AcidGuardianPT That's not creativity, dude.

  • @AcidGuardianPT not as much creativity as you might think.

  • @AcidGuardianPT TRUE DAT!

  • im one of the biggest muse fans. seen them live so many times and have such respect for them as musicians and composers. unfortunately that has been lost. because accroding to this song, it seems they have turned into a bad queen tribute act and are currently galloping through the arabian desert on a camel with a stolen Chopin manuscript. oh well. the vocals wer decent. pity.

  • bit disapointed wiv this song but still it seems tht muse have set up a good list of songs 4 there new album

  • they sound like queen.. and like a soundtrack...

  • Is that a bad thing?

  • yeah, those that say this isn't Muse really doesn't listion to hard do they? lol

This is Epic, beyond Epic, because last tiem I checked Take a Bow was the most epic thing I heard and now this...wow!

  • Yay. How epic....

  • awesome song!!!!

  • Ha!

Everyone is so pathetic, saying this isn't muse... You say this is a mix of many Great bands... so what's the problem? it's different IT IS MUSE. Ppl said the same shit about Supermassive Blackhole ....

Great song btw, GO MUSE!!!!!!! 26 october!!!

    _____

    MUSE

  • You, and me are the same.

This is indeed muse! And so is Uprising!!!

    14. sep & 26. oct here we come!

  • Good, are you gonna be in Copenhagen?

  • ohh, yes cant w8 for køben 26. okt =)

  • What a great talent!

  • Ok it has aspects of lots of different songs but Muse brought them together and it works!!! It really really worksl!!

  • heres a quick summary for those too lazy to listen to the whole thing: coldplay -> muse -> queen -> led zeppelin's kashmir -> muse -> queen -> aladdin soundtrack -> eurasia (x12) -> chopin. a classic progression.

  • I think I remember the Aladdin soundtrack being catchy :/

  • nope its muse>muse>muse>muse>muse>muse>muse>muse>muse>muse>muse>

    muse>muse>muse>choppin>muse

    MUSE!

  • I can exactly see why u came up with that combo

  • chopin with an f-16 backingtrack. doublefuck
