I don't think they knew much about acoustics when they built places like the Athenaeum because it sounds like one big echo chamber. Any way , I think Angelica did a good job and it would sound much better in an acoutical friendly hall. But really, this song should only be sung by large black women. I'm not prejudiced, but I think God has gifted them and only them to do this song.

The choir did fine except at the end; they were not the best, but certainly was decent. But in here, your style, your technique, your diatonics- they are all too out of the picture, way too off from the choir. You could have sang it moderately pop-like, but the intro and the ending were both too much. I'm sorry, it was sad to see how many people were blaming the choir for no good reason. I'd say, definitely dont do this gamble next time, take time and study other styles, or perform on your own.

People who are saying that the choir was the disaster obviously haven't joined a choir in their life. I don't want to sound mean, but to tell you the truth, this video is a great example of how someone who can sound good on their own sounds horrrific with a group. I understand you only had 2 days to prepare, but this is not the most complicated piece. You can't sing like a pop star when you are performing with a traditional style choir.

She did say that this piece was out of her element, but she's still got a hell of a voice even if this isn't her strongest style...

The thing that kinda let me down from this performance was the background singers... speaking from a musical background, i think the chords were (dare i say) too balanced. Chords always need a strong base... but i would've liked some sizzle from the top end background singers to back up the soloist.

Just my opinion ^_^ Again, the soloist has got talent.
