The chariot is only the manifestation or part of the sun, it depends on philosophy or astronomy, everyday Helios (or in greek myths, Apollo) rides the chariot around the world and lights up the humans' lives. if you dont understand me, just think of it as a really,really dangerous solar-powered chariot.

Plot power means nothing in fighting games (a traffic cop can kill a god), hell it doesn't mean much here either. Kratos can kill against gods, and ordinary humans can kill him gameplay wise. Actually, Ghost of Sparta he gets beaten by an ordinary human.
