hi there, what sort of duration (mins) do you get from your aa batts ? and what size " prop do u run ? ie dia and pitch as have a simple foam rc airboat almost finished, would appreciate your help/advice thanks
Hmmm I broke down the boat about a year ago but I think the prop was about 6" and I could run the boat for about 10 min. For power I used a 1100mA NiMH battery pack.
i made a project boat with a nitro engine from my rc car, the servos from it, and a little boat i got at radio shack for 20 bucks and i got bored with it so i gutted it and put nitro stuf in it. havent run it yet, but i know the drive system will work and i adjusted the radio so its good to go, now i just need nitro fuel and a little lake
Hi, for your boat, i know thats its balsa, but what kind of glue do you use. And can you explain how to construct it? Like you you make the sides straight and how to balance it. Thanks
awesome job on the boat i have a premade gator airboat and totally screwed up my finger 2 hrs in the er so i hear ya! what assholes trying to say i got my finger ina chainsaw didnt bother me1 wtf ok non beleivers wait till it does bie you real good then you will change your tune! well keep up the good work dude and thanks for postin! aj mycver over and out
-_________- how da hell did that brushed motor chopped up your thumb bad enough that u need stiches? my thumb got hit in a 1750 kv brushless motor running on 11.1v and it jus hurt rlly bad and was red, my thumb was not chopped up and i did not need stiches
Well, recently when my fingers got chopped up by an 11.1v brushless motor at half throttle, 2000kv, it messed them up pretty bad. I got several deep cuts, and my fingers were numb for an hour.
i just biult an rc airboat from my old cheap rc boat i had...i took it apart and put a 20 turn stinger motor with xl-1 speed control and a traxxas reciver and transmitter it not that fast but im gonna upgrade to a better motor and battery soon
very very cool. I watched both your vids adn let me just say those are both very bad ass boats. I am building an rc boat from the stock electronics from an rc18t using a cheap plastic boat toy that I got from bimart with a bunch of sand toys. I hope I have at least half the success you did. keep building, your boats rock.
really great vid man, I can't stop comin' back and watching it. Sorry about the previous comment, I was just retarded. Really great build, and if you have dimensions or plans, I'd love to have a look.
i should hav thought of that, using a mini-t battery. same volts as the air boat i have a vid of, but i used a standard 6cell. its alot heavier tho. my boat is alittle bigger to. nice job.
No instructions, use balsa wood and wood glue to make the hull. Paint the hull with oil based paint (this will keep the water out). The electronics are simple, find a proper electric motor to match the size of your boat, a esc to match the motor, a 2ch receiver and a servo. The hardest part will be mounting the servo to the rudder. I used a basic method I found online but you will have to look for yourself. The information is everywhere.
wow :) cool boat! I am building airboat with my friend too. I saw an electric motor in your boat, am I right? I was wondering what kind of motor do you got, and how many big is your battery charge. Is it 7,4v? post some instructions to my nick if you want. I am very glad if you could :) Thanks!
Thanks! Yes it is electric, traxxas ez start motor (like a 400 size can), 7.2v 6-cell A size batteries 1100Mah (same size as mini-t and rc18 packs etc...), 40A e-sky esc. The boats over all construction is balsa painted with oil based paint to protect the wood. Measures 18in by 7in...Thanks for the comment and good luck!
Nice! really nice! Keep it up!

Hi mate. What engine did you use. And where can i get it from?? Could you reply asap plz
dannydanny160198 1 year ago
I think it's just a 400 can size. It really depends on the size of your boat.
