This truck smokes a stock raptor. We cracked the frame on two stock raptor b4 getting one of the prerunners. Its workth the money a baja truck is easy 400k so 89k with sponsorship is worth it. Pistol Pete ( youtube him) builds our baja lights and was right about a stock raptor so blackcell011 you really dont know what you are talking about. It would cost you 80gs to get where this truck is with a stock raptor. This truck is for real racer teams not joe blow trying to look cool on the streets
not worth 100 grand. for that price you can make a sick trophy truck able to race baja and other comps... this truck cannot race, it needs a lot more. BUT i still want a RAPTOR !!!
They broke the pass side leaf spring perch and part of the leaf spring itself. They also changed the driveshaft but that was just a precautionary measure. They had an overheating issue but discovered that the cooling fans had not been plugged back in after they did some welding to fix the leaf spring perch. They also ran the whole thing in 2wd but got stuck in a deep soot pit where alot of other trucks ended up getting stuck as well. good performance i know.
@erevofreak96 it just depends what you want to use it for the raptor will leave the power wagon in the dust. but the power wagon can also tow and crawl over things so much better.
this truck is not at all what frod raced . i own a raptor everything looks the same but with more travel with sharper tierod angles .. there's a video of them building the raptor XR . i think its called raptor XR build up . clearly they use steel lower A arms not aluminium
@bigryan991 the new 2010 version is 47,000. 562 hp on my buddies and we actually use it despite living in a suburban area. I'm a prep, my buddies a fat country man, and my other friend is a b-ball arab. we are a weird bunch but when we buy something, we use it correctly. Very few people do that anymore. It's sad really.
Yeah. It will cost a third the price and be half the truck. Ford knows what they are doing. Besides if you get it like this from the factory, it is covered under factory warranty. That is a lot of work to modify anyway, and, a lot of time without your truck while it is being modified.
@blackcell011 Actually no. Roll Cage, Light Bar, Tire Rack, better tires, rims, suspension travel upgrade, and more hp and torque. $55,000 New. For the rest thats a good price. lol
@blackcell011 nope, not at all.. about what 48k to buy a stock raptor today? then after you do everything to it it still wouldnt be the 1 in 50 truck your buying from ford so seriously if your spending that much money anyways why not pay a little more and get it all immedietly instead of waiting for a while to get it out of the shop and be like oh crap forgot this and put it back in the shop?
that take all the pleasure out from the real pre-runner. To take your normal truck and transform it into a prerunner is the most awesome thing you can do, not buy it already mounted.
FUCK CHEVY!!! FORD IS DOMINATING IN PERFORMANCE!!! if you haven't noticed The Shelby Cobras are dominating chevy from the FACTORY! The Mustang GT will have 412 hp from the factory and last but certainly not the least, the RAPTOR IS A BEAST!!!!! (from the factory)!! Suck on it big bow-tie ladies...
real pre-runner go as the the same speed as Unlimited Trophy Trucks, around 135mph in the desert
Things you'll need if you're going to buy one, a better wheel base...making the travel go up to 20in in travel, and back 40 or so....the full bed and engine cage if you're going to roll over and a forged read end
even tho you think you're going to spend a lot in it
ask Currie Rear end to give you a price for the differential, ring pinion, and gears
first 5 mill. for a company like ford is nothing, second u know how much it costs to make one of those. They wont be making more than1.5 mill. of that car
I wonder if that 6.2L is an OHC or OHV motor. I doubt it's OHV because Ford has veered off from old pushrod motors, but the heads didn't look big enough to be a DOHC engine. Maybe a SOHC?
Ford has announced the official power ratings for the upcoming 6.2-liter V-8 version: 411 hp and 434 lbs.-ft. of torque, making it the most powerful half-ton pickup.
The two-valve single-overhead cam (SOHC) large displacement 6.2-liter V-8 features two spark plugs per cylinder, a cast-iron engine block and aluminum cylinder heads. It also features a cast-iron crankshaft, forged steel connecting rods and cast-aluminum pistons.
HAHAHAHA, I kept telling those chevy boys that ford could make a more powerful engine than them using more displacement...and that's with one cam per head and only a 2V! Just think if it was DOHC with 4V per cylinder. It would probably be well over 500hp
Reminder, GM's 6.2L has been out since 2006. Its specs are 403 HP and 425 Lbs-ft of torque. If thats the best you guys can come up with in 2010, well then, next year when our entire fleet of trucks gets a re-model, not only will our 6.2L be better, but we are placing a diesel engine in our half-tons, then we will see who has the most powerful half-ton trucks. May the best car win.
@generalmotors2009, you probably know the light duty gm and ford trucks will not have a diesel at least anytime soon, the idea was scrapped in 2009 by both. For 2011, Ford 1/2 tons will have a coyote 5.0 or the direct inject 3.5 v6, exception being the 6.2 raptor.GMs still have the old tech pushrod gas v8 which will be bumped up a couple horses. And no, 411 hp from the stock raptor is not the best they can do. It is on the conservative side untill GM increases the rating on their 6.0 and 6.2.
@GeneralMotors2009 if you look at the history of how Ford sets up the tune files for their big engines...you will notice that a simple tune (example: 3v 5.4 Triton...gets an extra 40 ft/lbs with just a tune) it will make way more power. Fastlane Inc of Houston has a few of those new 6.2 Ford engines and they managed to get around 500 HP at 7000 rpm with a few modifications...no boost. My 2005 F150 makes 372 hp and 434 tq at the flywheel..heads and cams..no boost. F150 = best 1/2 ton truck!
@GeneralMotors2009 LLOLOL I can only laugh at this. Go check out some of the Eco-Boost Torture Test videos. Check out the one where the 3.5L V6 SMOKES the Silverado with the 5.3L....... Ford only tested vehicles that GM would give them.. wasn't Ford's choice of what they got to test against.
this is in no way have anything to do with chevy's 6.2...the both are the same size motor.but thats were it ends ,,its common for car companies to have the same c.i.d's ,,ford and chevy both had 427's-both had 302's .ford , caddy and A M C all had 390's .ford and caddy 429's,ford and packard both had 352's , studebaker and ford-289's and i think rambler and chevy both had 327's --chevy , olds buick, pontiac& ford all had 400's .but all of these motors mentioned differ completley
