  • this is the early version of alvin andthe chimpmunks

  • Fantastic to see these again. I was born in 62 and used to watch these little cuties all the time. No computer CGI here, good honest puppetry but very convincing to a three year old.

  • Pinky ended up on the drink and perky ended up as a bacon sandwich

  • i still have the video this was on XD they where my favorate

  • Truly amazing footage. Thank you so much for posting!!

A young Michael Aspel too. Happy days!

  • ME N MY SIS USED 2 LOVE THT WEN WE WER KIDS, LOL WOT WERR WE THINKIN?

  • i'm 21 and from the usa, even though this was in the 60's and in england, i can see why they loved this show... some of the new shows today are bowls of shit like spongebob and icarly... this is an awesome show i wish they would rerun the searies for a little while for fun

  • IVE GOT A LOVELY BUNCH OF COCONUTS!! (this always cracks me up, it so cute and quite funny!!)

  • I have to agree, this is 100 time better than today. its better than Alvin and the Chipmunks.

  • Can I hazzard a guess that some posters read the Dail Mail? Just a guess. Personally I love our TV with its epic adventure shows, superb comedies like Outnumbered and gripping action dramas such as Spooks. I was brought up on 70's TV and even though there were some great shows, most of it was crud. Even Dr Who today is huge improvement. But I agree about Reality TV shows - not that you have to watch them if you don't want. Switch over to good docs, comedies and dramas. They're all there.

  • I would love to see the rest of this episode! Unfortunatly although I have the video I don't have a video player anymore :(

  • Ahhh! a wonderful stroll down Memory Lane. One Christmas I was given a money box made of plastic in the form of the one with the hat (not sure whether it was Pinky or Perky) and it was full of toffees. I had it for years and it sat on my bedroom windowsill. Happy carefree days, wish I was back there.

  • @SgtPecker actually , my mum, who's 81 still uses my old one as for her christma savings... not quite pink anymore...lol

  • Thanks for poting this:) aw... so kind of you! Remember r the runnaway train ... named the budgie perky!LOL

  • OMG MEMORY LANE!

  • It's Chipmunks the early years.

  • @infinitelycloser omg! i have that video tape...!!!! although i'm only thirteen.. but i love them! used to watch them as a kid :')

  • Happy birthday

  • Chuck Norris can sit through an episode of this

  • I loved this show as a kid :) I had a video of them which had flashing red lights or something on the front when you pressed something...hmmm must have been 10 years ago. Which is odd considering it's from the 60s-70s isn't it? x

  • happy happy memories

  • Sounds exactly like Alvin and The Chipmunks.

  • Pinky and Perky - the best little pigs on t.v.!! Happy memories, happy childhood!!

  • love it

  • 'Where there's life there's soap' :D

  • I wasn't born yet when this was first made, but I watched it at my grandparents house in the 90's... Especially this episode! The first one I remember watching!

I miss being a kid, i'm only 18, but I miss those years of being free and not having a care in the world :(

  • This is so much better and funnier than the shitty CG version...

    :)

  • we used to look forward to pinky and perky every sunday evening when we were kids

  • .....And The Chipmunks Were Born..But Pig o,o

  • i love these little guys, in their lil car driving round london and their little songs like i got a lovely bunch of coconuts. still got the video with a couple of episodes that used to light up and sing their theme tune. bbc could learn from these two and not put on so much garbage or try and remake them and make it an epic fail - postman pat, fireman sam etc

  • The coconuts speeding around the corner always makes me smile.

  • So much fun, it is a shame so many of these old shows were not preserved

  • UTTERLY charming, harmless and innocent, I'm 19 now, but this still makes me smile and laugh, they rather made up my childhood on VHS

  • @dalek42 Haha likewise bud..quality viewing

  • I'm nearly 19 and used to have these on video when I was a little kid, I used to love them so much :)

  • those are Pinky and Perky??? Wow

  • i'm only 17 and i use to have this on video when i was like 5 and i watched it nearly every week i loved it so much i miss these type of shows

  • This must be England's response to America s Alvin & The Chipmunks.

  • @JamesFlipper77 Alvin and the Chipmunks must be America's reponse to Pinky and Perky- Pinky and Perky was first broadcast in 1957, Alvin and the Chipmunks was created in 1958. :)

  • that car that pinky and perky are driving looks like brum

  • this show used to depress me as a kid, not sure why D:

  • I remember watching this at my nan and grandads house when I was little!! Watched it probably every day!

  • the charm of this show is wonderful and very loveable.

  • Lovely.

  • If they ever make a remake of pinky and perky like they have with andy pandy and bill and ben i will be angry :@ they just spoil it

  • Okay, now I get it. Being from the States, I'd never heard of these guys. I ran across their "Let's Twist Again" video here on YouTube first, and I thought, Boy, that's lame, but now that I can see more of how the show was staged, it's quite clever and cute.

  • oh memories

  • It cant be, Pinky and Perky sing in tune !!!

  • Best TV show EVER

  • Its John and Edward from the x-factor!!!

  • eata-coco-nut-a-day

  • me too! that was like 20 years ago! weird watching this i can still remember it all ha

  • FUCKING SCARY

  • I love Pinky and Perky! There just so innocent and sweet.Personally I wish television had more of things like this-harmless comedy-instead of the usual cheap shockers, reality television and soap opera garbage that is flung our way every evening. Go Pinky and Perky!

  • The new series doesn't Aas good as this as it is done with CGI. Can't beat the old TV era ,eh?

  • I now love "em ".

But when I was a kid thye used to frighten me to death! Did u ever egt scared by their voices.

  • @LtColKroenen Aren't Jedward the modern equivalent of this?

  • LOLIFER

    ROFLCOPTER

  • Omg i loved this show when i was lil

    i still have videos sumwere

    :L

    love it x

  • Amazing to see this again, I lived in Whitehaven when this was on tv and haven't been back since we moved in 1967 but all of a sudden I can feel the pebbles underfoot on St Bees beach, the pale blue railings around the school playground, the library in the hut near the park taking out Thomas the Tank Engine and needing a week to read it . . . Great memories of being a little 'un. Now a grandfather!

  • Lol when I was little I used to watch this XD And I'm only 16! I had the video and adored every bit of it XD Thanks for uploading !

  • Same with me! Im 16, and I used to watch this! My Grandad gave me the video of it!

  • Lol, I still have a video somewhere!

  • My mum bought this on video from Poundstretchers for my little brother back in 1993, so I must have been eight. I remember watching it - hilarious! The box for the video had a button you pressed that made their eyes light up and played the song!

  • omg! and it was in a pink case...I had it to, onloy I must of been about two wehn I had it. I watched it all up untill a few years ago

  • Yes! I remember that!! The light up eyes!! LMAO...
