  • ..does anyone know who the 'lead' singer was for this particular song (Rock Baby)? I understand they had several lead singers, including the great- Lenny "O, O, O, O, O, O" White.

  • @chasacart It's Michael Jeffries.

  • "...rock on down, to the ground!" ;-)

  • Classy Funk

  • excellent jam

  • Awesome jam! They still play this at the skating rinks! My favorite jam especially here 0:42

  • Wicked jam!!! I love this song. It hit the clubs in late 1979 and jammed for a whole year. Everyone used to dance like crazy to this song. Everybody moved. The 12" EP is wicked. It has this irresistable funky break in it. Bought the album in summer of 1979. The 12" EP was a promotional copy for DJ's @ that time, but you can find it now on the internet in vinyl shops. I found it 3 years ago. Still sounds is exciting as it did when I was in my teens on the dance floor.

  • @panmandee

THE 12" IS GREAT, STILL HAVE IT FROM WHEN I USE TO PLAY IT AT A SKATING RINK.

  • 1979.. disco was everywhere so almost all hardcore funk and jazz names and even some rock groups jumped on the bandwagon. Tower of Power were one of them and I believe that they did well even purists would not like the concept. every era has its own magic, at that time a little bit of changing a formation like what Kool & the Gang did exactly the same year was fun.

  • I think I still got this album in my possession!

  • t;hank you, thank you for posting this very rare tower of power hit single> this is so hard to find!

this was in the charts I believe in 1978. great dance song!

  • Tight Old School Jam! DJ's still funkin this one round my way.

  • This whole album is nice...I've had my album since 79 when I was 8 years old...even have the CD....very nice.

  • Great song from Tower of Power

  • Not one of their better albums. Even Garibaldi that it was "horrible". It was not of their own doing. The record co. wanted them to go in a more commercial (sound familiar?) direction & to get away from their classic "Oakland Funk" style. There are a few good tunes on here, but for me this album conjures up images of John Travolta & mirrored balls hanging from the ceiling.

  • another classic jam from " THE TOWER"....

  • I love song, it bring back a lot of memories.
