  • As far as anything done in christianity regardless of denomination, everything must go through the name (authority, reputation, character, etc) of Jesus as evidenced in John 10 .

I believe that earthly Jesus said Matt 28:19 because of (John 5:41) (John 7:18) (John 8:50; 8:54)

But Christ would later give instructions on what to do when He would no longer be with the disciples (John 16:23) Which would be to do all things in His name..

So what denomination is right? That is the question..

  • To me, the whole denominational beliefs depend on if 1 Cor. 15:24-28 has occurred yet. If it has, then there is no distinction in the Godhead. I have heard a theologian state that this occurred at the cross. But then, if 1 Cor. 15:28 has not occurred yet, there is still a distinction in office of the Son and the Father, but they are still ONE. I personally don't feel it has happened yet

    John 14:20

"On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you."

  • Well said.

  • Baptizing in Jesus Name or in the name of the Father, Son , and the Holy Ghost, is of little concern. Here is a Challenge: There is not 1 example in the Bible that shows a convert getting the Holy Spirit through Water baptism. The Holy Spirit is the seal of our salvation(Eph 1:13-14) Romans 8:9. Baptism Regeneration is a false doctrine until you can prove in the Bible examples of indwelling of the Holy Spirit during water baptism.

  • @Judgement220 you make a good point. never noticed before

  • for] Greek: eis (GSN-G1519), because of remission of sins. When one repents, which is always required in Scripture before baptism, he is immediately forgiven (1Jn. 1:9; Rom. 10:9-10). Only then is one a proper candidate for water baptism which is an outward symbol of the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ (1Pet. 3:21). It testifies to the world that one has already repented and been forgiven by faith in Christ (Eph. 2:8-9; Rom. 1:16; 3:24-25; 5:1). See note on Mt. 3:11.

  • You are way off brother. First, we filfill Matt: 28:19 when we obey Acts 2:38.

  • (Acts 2:38 KJV) "Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost."

(Acts 2:39 KJV) "For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call."

  • your wronge

  • Hey brother lol long time no talk bobby. Just would like to say, Acts 2:38 was instructions for Israel and the dispensation of the Law was still in effect. The dispensation of Grace did not start till Pauls conversion and Christ sent him not to baptize. The One faith and ONE BAPTISM Paul talked about was when you believe the gospel you are baptized into his death and into the Body of Christ.

  • the dispensation of law was done away @ the crucifiction.. do you remember when the veil was rent twain?????? instant access into the holy of holies. instant access into the throne of grace. so i am glad that you read Acts2:38 now you need to obey it....

  • Where at in scripture does it say "Acts 2:38 was instructions for Israel...still in effect"? Dispensation of grace did not start 'til Pauls conversion? Where does it say that @ in scripture? When we believe the gospel we're baptized? What verse & chapter is that in?

  • Hey, brother I am UPCI and I would like to talk to you on the phone and discuss a matter that is too long to type out, so let me know if your available

    God Bless!

  • I am praying that you will be delivered from the cult of the UPC.

  • Sir, I would like to correct the way that you had titled your Jesus name.. I am part of those Oneness believer. I am not Jesus only believer I am a Jesus Every thing believer. Jesus is the Father, Jesus is the Son, Jesus is the Holy Ghost..

  • seriah7: If you truly knew Jesus, you would know Him only as the Son of God. 179 times Jesus referred to "my father," "the Father," and "your Father," as distinct from Himself, but not one time did He refer to "my Son," or claim to have sent the Son, or called Himself the Father. (info from Gregory Boyd's book, Oneness Pentecostal & the Trinity.)

  • What? You should probably go back and read the bible again. Jesus is very clear and states plainly that he and his Father are 1.

  • k1n2f3 very well said my friend

  • I don't have any idea of what you are saying in this video. Were you saying that you need to be baptized to be saved or you are saved before you are baptized?

  • You must be baptized to be saved.

Jesus instructed in Matthew 28:19 "go ye therefore, and teach all nations, BAPTIZING THEM...".

notice He didnt say.. IF you baptize but rather WHEN you baptize. Baptizm is PART of the gospel and is not an option.

  • Thanks for the video brother. - apostolic from CA

  • There is no confusion. The Bible is clear that we are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. Cornelius was saved before baptism.

The Philippian jailer was told "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved"

Paul did not repeat Acts 2:38.

  • Mar 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. Act 16:31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

Act 16:32 And they spake unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house.

Act 16:33 And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed their stripes; and was baptized, he and all his, straightway. After the jailer believed he and his family were baptized!!

  • If you were telling someone for the first time how to tie their shoes, you would go over every step with all diligence. Methodically telling every detail.

The next day you tell the same person how to tie their shoes. only this time you may quickly go over the facts casually omitting the very obvious because you know and understand that they know all about those aspects already.

  • same simple logic in dealing with scripture. Just because every single step of salvation isn't painstakingly documented does not necessarily mean that these steps were not followed out. If these steps were not followed, then those who didn't speak with other tongues and be baptized were in direct disagreement to their previous statements of belief in acts 2. Remember all twelve apostles were present and in agreement in 2:37-39.

  • Its not really a Jesus only doctrine, Its more of Jesus everything.

  • JTTN

no one ever repeated matthew 28:19. not once will you ever ind baptizm in the titles in the bible. never.

but all throughout acts and the letters you will find overwelming evidence that more we needed that a few words of repentence.

Grace is not the method of salvation,

grace is the reason why the method of salvation is in exisance.

There are litterally millions of tongue talking christians living right now, and when they pray they say a lot more than some mindless chant of a prayer.

  • JTTN

we deserved his judgment, but because of his grace or "unmerited favor", he sent his son. if we were saved by grace alone then why send Jesus?

If your trinity was in existence before Mary's pregnancy, then were was his grace from that time and back?

why not just have grace back in the garden? if you suppose that's how were saved...?

surely Adam and Eve of ANYBODY would have had the faith. no my friend, there is much more to this thing. Its called acts 2:38

  • Who said anything about the Trinity? Don't assume that because I reject the water regeneration doctrine that I do not believe Baptism is essential as a command or that I believe in the Trinity doctrine.

  • my apologies, usually doctrines come giftwrapped in sets.

If you believe that water baptism is an essential quality of salvation but reject water regeneration, then what do you suppose is its purpose?

God always used water to seperate man from his sins. look to Noah and the Ark for the smallest example.

  • @JTTNMinistries

The "we" that you refer to in Eph. 2:8,9 is the church at Ephesus. If you would like to know how they got saved by God's grace, read Acts 19:1-7 please.

Also, the conversation you mentioned in Acts 16:31 begins at that verse, and goes on to give the account of how Paul preached Jesus Christ to them and they got saved (verses 32-34).

Please search the scriptures, and believe the word of God as it is written.

  • Its not really a "Jesus only" theology, its more like Jesus everything. The UPC doesn't deny the Father, the Son, or the Holy spirit, It believes that Jesus is all of those things. See now? Jesus everything.

  • @JTTNMinistries Paul only told the jailer that because he was fixing to put his sword through his heart, read later on when Paul goes to his house and continues to explain to him. Paul did not have time to explain Acts 2, it was a moment when he need to provide a quick solution before the jailer killed himself, then after Paul told he he could be saved he continued to explain at the jailers house.
