  • I want another American Eskimo!

I used to have a few when I was young, but when we moved we had to give them up for adoption.

  • We have a 2 year old female.

She was a puppy from our first litter and like you, the families situation changed and they had to give her up. She's a wonder girl if you're seriously interested.

  • i am getting a dog soon, but there are few american eskies in adoptions, and pounds. even if they have eskies, they are from some other state.

  • my teacher brought his eskie puppy to school and i got 2 hold it!!! it was the most adorable thing ever!!!

  • My friend has one and it is sooo cute

  • OMGosh...I love those babies. I have one.. He is just fantastic :)

  • Not big it all, they come in 3 sizes: toy, small, and standard. Toy is about as big as a cat, small is slightly bigger, and standard a good 35-40 pounds.

  • is it like a Samoyd or how ever you spell it lol

  • Ours are the small end of the Mittelspitz or Medium/Standard Spitz size they are no taller than 14" at the shoulder and under 27lbs. Love how compact they are, yet go all day

  • best breed ever

  • i had an eskie...got stolen..1 thing about these dogzz is they like to get dirty lolz

  • :) Ours can't stand dirty paws and lay down to lick them clean when we pause on a walk! LOL.

  • this little puppy is one of the reasons why i want to get an eskie so badly when i'm older. =D

  • I have an American eskimo dog. They are so cute. They are my favorite kind of dog in the world!

  • that puppy is so cute thats how mine looked when she was a puppy

  • aww. i'm getting one tomorrow.

  • Adorable. Seems like whenever i grab the camera, they become camera shy.

  • wow..way too cute also ...looks just like my baby when she was the same age...shes now 1 yr...

  • Cute.

  • Aww...it's as if you brought a plush puppy to life. Fuzziness and all. ^^

  • damn cute

  • One of the first dogs noted by Europeans upon their arrival to the Americas was a Spitz like dog they called the Eskimo dog.

  • I thought American Eskimo is actually a German spitz. It's not native to the Americas.

  • I have one and everything I have read said it was formerly the German Spitz...WWI came and the name was changed and a big time breeder then was "Eskimo" kennels so they named them the AMERICAN Eskimo so as not to be connected with anything German

  • The Japanese Spitz is a dog of similar origins to the American Eskimo, which for various reasons do not recognize the German Spitz genetic linage. Eskies have a very interesting history.
