FYI for anyone who doesn't know: Neil Peart often credited Ayn Rand as a major influence on his lyrics. "2112" is pretty much based directly on her novel "Anthem". Ron Paul (also strongly influenced by the writings of Ayn Rand -- enough that he named his son after her) has often given praise to Rush and I don't know but I'm guessing Neil Peart probably is a fan of Ron Paul.

If anyone can help, I was looking in to purchasing Rush Sector 2 off amazon. I noticed that A farewell to kings is a DVD version of the album. However, on amazon it says there are 5 Cd's and one DVD included in the package. So can kings be played in a DVD and a CD player, or is it two separate albums? Or is amazon just completely wrong? Help would be appreciated.

Ah!! The album that started my whole Rush life back in the late 70's. I wasn't even 10 yet and remember buying this album not long after Hemispheres came out in '78. I use to stare at the cover and get caught up in the whole majestic "medievel times" sound. Caress of Steel is like that too

highly distinctive voice that grows on you once accustomed to its high pitch ... first time i heard Geddy Lee singing i almost laughed outloud b/c it's so unusual but i guess that's true of many top vocalists .. it's a 'technically' strong voice he has aswell which isn't always the case although for serious instrumental bands like Rush, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin it's the rule .. a truly great band but also an acquired taste, coming at you 'leftfield', only for the discerning

I can only listen to a "spoonful" of rap before having to get my fill of Rush, Yes, Grand Funk, etc. But what pisses me off about my friends (except one who has good taste) is that the ones who do listen to rock all listen to the new alternative rock like Shinedown, Breaking Benjamin, Stone Sour, and those kinds and say Rush sucks.
