Saw them perform this same act at the Capitol Center just outside of DC back in 1976 and the Horn players were stepping hard, Also on that show Ohio Players, Chuck Brown and the Soul Searchers, and War what a show
ONLY PEOPLE THAT DIDNT LIKE DISCO ,IS THOSE THAT COULDNT DANCE ,LOL THINK ABOUT IT, ALL THE HATERS,I GOT ALOTTA ASS OFF OF THESE DANCE SONGS, HEY BABY WANNA DANCE. ITS ON ALL NIGHT.
What and amazing horn section ~~~~~pure energy~~~~~~~. I don't think there's a person in that crowd that ain't gettin' down tonight! ~Peace and God Bless~.
KC needs to either get this band back together. Or get a new band exactly like the original cut a new album/cd. Then do the Super Bowl half time show!
this song came out when I was 5yrs old my momma and daddy throwing down back then know wonder no body was fat then like they say today movin this fast every weekene good ness!
Where are the KC and the Sunshine bands of today?...Luv this stuff. All the music of the 70"s is from a time when people were reaching out for one another. You could go out on a Friday night and see couples openly making out and showing affection for each other;...Which is exactly how it's supposed to be.
3 people have no funk and no musicality. if ever I'm sad or angry, stressed etc anything KC & The Sunshine Band really does put a ray of sunshine into my day and a smile across my face - not to mention it makes me wanna boogie & get down!! woooooo
The best integrated pop band in American history. In their heyday, the "golden age of pop music" (1965-1985), KC and the Sunshine Band was second to none.
If you look carefully, you can see Huggie Bear wearing a turban and playing a trumpet. Give me a, "What you talkin' 'bout Willis?" if you spot the son of a gun.
yea, cocaine gave you the energy to rehearse,do a show, stay up late have sex and then wake up the next day and do it again on 2 or 3 hours sleep. Until about 6 months later when it starts to have the reverse effect on you. You can't remember shit, nobody wants to be around you, people are robbing you left and right, sex aint fun and then the hits stop coming and the record company says Adios.
@AstralPixie KC is still out there kickin today. Though HE is the ONLY original member, he still does the same thing as to having a mix of colors as does the band War. They are still out there too, the lead singer/keyboard player is the only origianal member. Both bands still kick butt!!
@1969captainron, In theory it looks like a white band leader of a predominately black band (in the 70s) would get a lot of black (tail) I thought the same think too until I heard that KC's good friend "Richard Finch" (who played bass with KC and is the co founder of the band) likes to have sex with under aged boys. I think him and KC might like the black GUYS more than the black ladies, you never know...
@gigqueen1 Everybody calls this disco, but to me this is pure hard core funk. They slapped a disco tag on it because the band had a white face and it could get airplay. This works both ways, George Benson, a jazz artist, got major radio play. Jimmy Bo Horne had the same sound as KC (he was produced by KC) yet he got NO popular airplay.
@1969captainron not that here is anything wrong with it (Seinfeld!) but KC didn't like the black ladies, or any ladies for that matter...KC likes young boys, just like his former bassist Richard Finch.....who got caught with a teen and is doing 7 years in the pen now
Hell I'm Black and I've argued with my friends for years. Say what you want, KC had the baddest funk band in the land in the 70s. They could give EWF. Ohio Players, and the Isleys a run for their money on any night.
@frogca You are right about KC and folks need to give him credit for his music. When you think of 70s dance music his songs are the ones that come to mind. I miss those crazy outfits that were worn back then. I love coming on YT and looking at videos of all the old funk bands. lol madness but great fun. lol
What a energy and funky horns. K.C. and his band are the top of dance music. This music makes me happy and takes me back to the seventies my youth. Great live performance thanks for posting.
Just love it even after all this time. In some ways it reminds me of Music Lover by Sly and the Family Stone off the Woodstock soundtrack. If you have never heard it, you must.
