1:49, Hold your breath... Its the 1st ever... Kokujin walks away from the 1st round with the highest Rank I've ever seen anyone get. Hats off to Kokujin, S Rank! 5 Stars =)
He's overrated because he can punish the miscalculations of others, but he won't do flashy combos? Did i get that right? Besides Dudley's greatest asset is not his juggles, its his corner lock down.He controls space easily, simply by being on screen your opponent just doesn't wanna be in the corner limiting them to midscreen, where he's not too shabby either.
Yeah, he's good. I am not trying to make immature comments about his playing level. I said that 'cause I read a lot of comments from his fan boys about how he's the greatest. I agree, he's good. But, since he doesn't use his character's greatest asset, even to it's half, I must say I am disappointed. He can do the same w/ Ken, Ryu and Chun Li. Nothing special about "his Dudley."
And I understand what you are saying, Vicioustale but, I believe juggling well is a skill and doing some impromptu good juggles shows that, and is not at all flashy. In short, I agree w/ what you said, which is exactly what I said in my first about hammering opponents when they make a mistake but, I have to disagree when you say juggling is like doing "flashy combos", which implies showing off, esp. when you are talking about Dudley.
I think we can all agree that kokujin doesn't have as good execution as, say, fujiwara, for doing corner combos, but his play is very solid; the fact that kokujin has made it to quarter finals for the last two super battle operas is evidence of that. He is the ONLY dudley player to ever make it into tougeki finals. I think that should speak for itself.
Dudley's greatest asset is not his ex machinegun blow combos. It's his weird normals that link into super.
EX machinegun blow doesn't even combo after standing roundhouse for certain characters if they are crouching. And you can't use it if they're airborne when you hit them.
And yeah, you're right about fanboys. People who ride e-cocks are annoying. Nobody's saying you can't criticize, but you should at least try to be knowledgeable about the scene (like past tourney results) and why the best players play the way they do.
Kokujin is over rated. Don't get me wrong, he's good but, he doesn't even try juggling and that's supposed to be his character's greatest asset. Someone link me a good juggle from him...I have never seen one. He's good at punishing miscalculations by others but, that's about it. He's good but, over rated.
You dont see many S grades.

Even though he lost the set, I think this is 1 of Kokujin's finer performances. Fujiwara's my fave' Dudley though lol.

LOL
yes, let us think that solid play is more skillful than dial-a-combo.

Amen.
Kokujin has perfect wakeup technique. You never see him get hit by random super or shoryuken when he goes for corner lockdown.
