i finished my chest and we found that you can make a stop at the back of the ban saw so that when you hit you depth you cant go any further then its just a case of making lots of slits and going side to side with the wood on the ban saw to clean it out - it was really precise :)
im doing a wooden chest for my gcse final project and i want to use the this for my joints however is there an eisier way wiithout having to use the chisel?
If you don't want to use a chisel to finish the joint you could try the scrollsaw. Take a look at our website where we use the same template as in this video but this time with a scrollsaw. Search for 'comb joint hegner' in Google.
