It was worth every penny i spent because it was something new to the market and i adored it. Now i have a very nice carrera S 997. There is no looking back with Porsche. I totally agree. Work hard play hard. That is everything right there.
when your 40?? you should have a carrera GT by then. I am not rich, im 30 and have a 997 carrera S, it doesnt cost alot at all. Nothing compared to the thrill of having one. I bought my 996 at 24 and had a 30 grand boxster at 21, if you work hard, you can play hard. Simple.
A 30 grand Boxster at 21 . Not that I don't believe you but I imagine you spend all your savings on cars. Do you still have money to go out and eat ? I know someone who did that. Saved all his money and bought a Boxster. He had some bragging rights but the contents of his fridge went spiralling down.
@apfelipod i'm 17... i hope for the same thing, but not for the 4wd model... the carrera 2 s seems to be the most balanced and most rewarding 911 according to the reviewers that've driven them all. that includes the gt2, but i'm not sure if it includes the gt3.
I agree with what the other guy said. At your age I thought exactly the same as you, I'm 22 now and you start to realize that buying the car is not enough. Mainenance, taxes, fuel and especially insurance can kill your bank account. I've changed my goal to buying a Cayman (maybe the S) when I'm 40. Believe me, unless your family is rich it's impossible to buy this car at 26.

If you love drifting you'd probly love the C2S more but if you like the stable handling for daily use all-wheel drive is the way to go.
