Toyotas don't just randomly accelerate. the problem is that the gas pedal actually sticks in a depressed position due only to excessive wear. Their gas pedals have a friction creating device that is supposed to simulate a traditional cable pedal. That being said, this woman must have been immigrating from a country in which she didn't learn English, or at the very least the difference between the letters D and R. Also, the horizontal pedal in the middle is the one that makes it stop dumbass.

And if the electronis controlling the throttle body malfunction then the entire system will go into "safe mode" shutting down all systems. in the rare case that it goes into safe mode there is another ecu that will take over, it controlls only vital components, throttle position, steering, brakeing,door actuators, and abs. sheep

i am a toyota technician and i dont know how many times i see like two or three floor matts under the brake and gas pedals, its a hazard for all makes and models. P.S----- ITS PHYSICALLY impossible for the gas pedal to accelerate on its own. there is no cable linking from your foot to the motor. ONE floor matt folks, one, and keep debris out of the floorboard. gas pedals dont "stick" honda, ford, toyota, mitsubishi, hyundai. all use the same manufacture for gas pedals.
