When you talk about the superior tactical minutia of the sport over boxing or anything else, the typical viewer could give a damn less. Without television these fights wouldn't work. An octagon in these venues, if you're more than three rows back, you can't see it! You need fast editing and no corner time. The actual gate at some events is no more than a few hundred people. It also eats fighters, most end up with a clean towel and a ride to the hospital. Wait until Laddel or Rampage can't dress themselves and they pee their pants in public. When these men are bed ridden invalids in a diaper, that could make a great show too!

Well, the strikes are harder, but having ground fighting means less strike which= less brain damage. Also, over 1,000 soft strikes vs 10-20 hard strikes is actually much worse for the brain. Admittingly, MMA does involve Bone breaks and other such things, but less than in wrestling, so its really a mixed bag.

In MMA they stop the fight as soon as one fighter is unable to defend themselves. In boxing they give people a chance to get up, ready themselves, and keep going. That's dangerous, it allows people to take far more blows to the head, and suffer a concussion and keep going.
