  • I lived outside of briscoe, tx i had to evacuate 3 times and i am now a volunteer fireman

  • i live in pampa but my dad lives in howardwick and he was fighting that fire and 3 guys he just meet 30 mins before they tiped over and 1 died 1 was my dads best freinds son and the other 1 i didnt know

  • I was in Amarillo when this happened. We had fires out in Chapparrel hills toward Givens and Western.

  • Wow. I'm from Norman, OK and we had visibilities down to 1/8 mile or less due to the smoke. We are 250 miles away from Amarillo. We also had a lot of cardiovascular-related issues due to the thick smoke. That, of course, pales in comparison to the damage and loss of life out there.

  • This brings back alot of sad memories. My dad was one of the 4 oilfield workes that died that day.

  • These fires were crazy. It made the area east of Borger look like a desert. The dead cows were everywhere. It was all burned as far as you could see with your eyes.
