Wow. I'm from Norman, OK and we had visibilities down to 1/8 mile or less due to the smoke. We are 250 miles away from Amarillo. We also had a lot of cardiovascular-related issues due to the thick smoke. That, of course, pales in comparison to the damage and loss of life out there.
These fires were crazy. It made the area east of Borger look like a desert. The dead cows were everywhere. It was all burned as far as you could see with your eyes.

I was in Amarillo when this happened. We had fires out in Chapparrel hills toward Givens and Western.
