@moosewing2 The Q3HD Irons out most of the Q3 weaknesses, it has better picture quality and is a lot better in low lighting. The sound quality is awesome.
i like this product but i dont wanna upload straight to youtube i wanna edit it first,...something tells me most users are using a MAC computer, how do I convert the formate. or do i have to upload to youtube then get download it from there with realplayer sp? and convert it from there.?
@ROCKO633 I have the Q3HD and the thing records in .mov format. you can simply download a cconverter program convert the files inti wma or whatever and edit them or you could search for a freeware editor for quicktime. You don't have to upload the vids to youtube first, the upload is optional.
Just got mine... The audio is amazing... the video is good enough. Can't stand all the stupid vids with horrid distortion. The vid quality is WAY better than what anyone had 10 years ago, so all you techy nerds, put the gripes away...
This rig has probably been aimed at Youtube musicians - it's great on sound recording and "adequate" on video. Camcorders are usually good on video and barely adequate on sound.
The sound codec that works with the HD files is different than the ones that are produced using the field recorders...they would fare a bit better if they had essentially made a Kodak Zi8 and found a way to mount a Blue Mikey on it.
Wish I'd waited. The sound is great, but the video is terrible. My vids look as though they're recorded in a dark cave. I ended up getting some OK-ish vids, but only if I use a 200W light bulb above me, and another lamp shiining in my face. I also have to wear light clothes, and throw a white blanket behind me, to get anything resembling a half-decent vid out of this product.
do the chords to hook it up with a tv and stuff come with it, and btw how much time to you get on one set of battery, can you use rechargable bateries? is there a power supply? HELP MEEEE
no power supply. The cords for the TV come with it. I think you can probably use rechargable batteries. But the picture quality is very poor, the aperture is probably too small. The zoom's ability to see in low light is terrible. Considering it's mainly for musicians, this is a fundamental flaw.
ya, the audio sounds terrible when your windows 7 media player WON'T PLAY IT!! and there's NOTHING ONLINE that adequately explains how to fix it--

Donald, this was a perfect review for us. We are looking for something to use in college classrooms to capture lectures and need great sound...
But if we aren't going to be able to capture the power points and white board sketches clearly, then maybe this isn't for us after all.
Thanks again. Great job.

Blue should make a mic for pocket HD cameras.

I'm going to wait until Zoom improves the video quality which I think is just as important as the sound quality.
