This can't be the spec V, it sayed 0 - 60mph in 3.7 sec, it should have been around 3.2 or 3.4 at most. Not only that the spec V should do a skid pad of around 1.3 g's.

this and 2009 zr1 is about the same and when the 2010 zr1 is here and they test it the zr1s lap times may come up better since the upgrades sooo nissan got a tough competition 2010 zr1 will be better than this with lower price nissan is in trouble

@bigkckrva Nissan had 379 lemon lawsuits filed against them, removed launch control on 2010 models (so there slower now), got sued for consumer fraud & was put in the lowest group of JD Power's ranks for reliability ( #26 of 34 Brands). Also, the ZR1 ran a time of 7:22.4 at the ring in october of '08.. look it up. There is no car that looks as good, sounds as good, or performs as well as the ZR1 for the price. Period.
ZR1 quarter mile 11.2 @ 130.5 mph, that's not even with traction like the GTR gets. Pay close attention to that trap speed, it's a big indicator of how fast the car is. For 165K.. Nissan screwed up bigtime with the Spec V.

rip off of the decade i mean it like seriously no launch control and most of the reason why the specv is so much more expensive than the base gt-r is because of the brakes that take up a cost of 50k of those 162k s you have to pay for the specv and the specv cant out brake the zr1 and the zr1 is only 105k and the zr1 is exiteing and delivers performance like no other vette.
it does have launch control. except the rpm is reduced by a couple hundred so its easier on the transmission. but i will agree its a bit overpriced for some minor upgrades like weight-saving, breaks, and other stuff i forgot. you could always get after-market upgrades rather than get the spec-v which IS quite fucking expensive
well the zr1 has all this wieght saveing material and carbon cermaic brembo brakes out of an FXX and the zr1 is supercharged and you see gm ripping evryone off with a ridiculos price tag the zr1 is 30k more expensive than a z06 and they've made huge improvements the specv is twice as expensive as the gtr and nissan only gives you minor improvements most people buying a gtr will go for the base and tune it.
i own a 997s and it won't match the GTR; but the porsche is cheaper to maintain, brakes, tune ups, etc. GTR is really a marketing ploy and underpriced. once you own one past warranty, you better have more cash than porsche owners to keep it running.

Stop comparing Nissan GTR Spec V and start looking at other vehicle. Ferrari F430 Scuderia come with no carpet and it is stripe down pretty much like the GTR Spec V is. Ferrari F430 Scuderia also comes with a race mode switch button, pretty much like the one Nissan GTR Spec V has and also Ferrari F430 Scuderia has about 13 to 20 more horse power bump over the original Ferrari F430 and Ferrari F430 Scuderia cost twice the price of that original Ferrari F430.

I've actually driven a GTR and don't mind the interior at all.
It looks kind of low grade but the fit and finish is seamless.
No creaks or jiggles like you get in a Vette.
If I had a spare 100 grand lying around I would be more than willing to sacrifice extra performance for better build quality, walk right past the Vette and buy the GTR.
Yeah I agree my friend has a GTR and yes it's a bit boring compared to Ferraris and Lambos but still a nice place to be... As for the ZR1 I would still own one I am just a freak on cars and would buy it in a heart beat (still a fatastic car) but well said my friend on the GTR... the bargin of the car industry...

the spec-v and zr1 have too much time and effort in suspension tuning to be just "drag cars" but take them to a road course to do what they are SUPPOSED to do and the spec-v will come out on top

Straight line speed IS a lot of fun, and the GTR SpecV doing 11.0-11.5 1/4 mile runs is PLENTY for me to use on a track, and more than enough on the street.
To drive at a track quarter mile times with that difference dont matter. Look at the Bugatti Veyron, 1/4mile champ, 1001Bhp. but a GTR will flog it on a track, but then again, the GTR flogs most cars round a track. Grats to Nissan on producing such an awsome car i say.

Although there isn't an official lap time on Nordschleife of this Spec V, but there are unofficial lap times of 7:25s, which is 1s faster than the corvette ZR1.

I think if they had done more to make it like its JGTC/GT500 counterpart, it might be worth the money.
A nice big 4.5L V8 from the "VK" series, a manual 6 speed, along with the already included weight reductions. Now THAT would make it worth the extra dough.

Spec V vs ZR1 is a pointless argument. Spec V is only available in Japan. ZR1 is only available in the U.S. you will never see these two cars in the same country.

Spec-V isn't planned to be released in the US so far, so you don't need to worry about it.
and the price of the GT-R depends on where you're going to buy it, I have found a couple for around $75,000. So,
~$75,000 For a PREMIUM GT-R.
$104,820 For the Corvette ZR1.
I'd just take the GT-R, maybe tune it and save lots of money, have better performance than the ZR1, better fuel economy, better built car and call it a day.
It's not like the GT-R is faster than the corvette in a quarter mile only.. it's also better in everything, around corners, build quality.. etc etc etc etc etc

Actually I have the actual invoice in Japanese that I had to translate and final cost is $183,000. That tells you realistically how much a car like the ZR1 could ask for if it had some type of badge on it saying it was a foreign made car.

No, the premium will cost you around 85K new. If we're talking used it's a whole different story.
Tuning a GT-R isn't as easy as you'd think. They've juiced out every possible HP out of that 3.8 V6, and the parts are hard to find. A ZR1 is much easier to tune since it uses the same 6.2 V8 engine as the more mainstreamed Corvette base.
Z06 is your best bet. Gets 24MPG, higher than both ZR1 and GT-R. Also,you can do quite a bit with the 7 liters. You have better parts availability as well.
MotorTrend tested one and it did 0-60 in 3.2 seconds and the 1/4 in 11.0 FLAT @ 125mph. That's faster than what they tested the ZR1 doing which was 11.3 at 128mph. Carbon Ceramic brakes do not make cars stop better per se, but it allows them to do it repeatedly without having a change in effects. and 1.12G is absolutely AMAZING especially with AWD which usually hurts in the skid pad because of understeer. This is a ZR1 eater, it has better numbers EXCEPT in top speed, and has AWD drivability.

1.06 isn't really comparable to 1.12. When talking about G forces that's a pretty noticeable margin. For example the 350Z pulls .94G and the 05-09 Mustang GT pulls .88G and those cars feel night and day different when in the twisties. The margin of difference between a Mustang GT is to a 350z as the ZR1 is to a Spec-V exactly .6G which I have proven to be a VERY noticeable margin. Also from .94G to the Z06's 1.0G is exactly .6G.

Yes, The redid the launch control to that it launches at 3 or 4k instead of almost 6k like it was with last years model. So still very close 0-60 times with out messing up trans or voiding warranty. And I hear that the reprogram is possibly available for current GT-R owners.

Stop comparing Nissan GTR Spec V and start looking at other vehicle. Ferrari F430 Scuderia come with no carpet and it is stripe down pretty much like the GTR Spec V is. Ferrari F430 Scuderia also comes with a race mode switch button, pretty much like the one Nissan GTR Spec V has and also Ferrari F430 Scuderia has about 13 to 20 more horse power bump over the original Ferrari F430 and Ferrari F430 Scuderia cost twice the price of that original Ferrari F430.

Quite wrong.
As someone who generally dislikes all American cars, I have to say that the ZR1 is pretty epic.
I don't like it at all, but its performance figures are hard to argue with.
It outperforms exotics costing up to 4 times as much; that's pretty incredible.
People can complain about styling, interior, and build quality all they want, but at the end of the day the ZR1 is still out in front on the track.

I've actually driven a GTR and don't mind the interior at all.
It looks kind of low grade but the fit and finish is seamless.
No creaks or jiggles like you get in a Vette.
If I had a spare 100 grand lying around I would be more than willing to sacrifice extra performance for better build quality, walk right past the Vette and buy the GTR.

Very nice, but at twice the cost you wonder who would buy it.
I think if they had done more to make it like its JGTC/GT500 counterpart, it might be worth the money.
A nice big 4.5L V8 from the "VK" series, a manual 6 speed, along with the already included weight reductions. Now THAT would make it worth the extra dough.
And it may actually cost less to achieve, depending on how they go about it.

inside line did 1.06 with the zr-1, What i wanna know is the price difference from gtr to specV cause these numbers are negligable compared to the normal gtr. like .5 mph in the slalom, a few feet braking distance, slower 0-60 1 or 2mph in the quarter and like a tenth of a second faster...i dont get it i thought the spec V was supost to be this world beating monster. $83,289.00 For a base GT-R.
$104,820 For the Corvette ZR1.
According to Inside Line:
$162,000 For the GT-R SpecV (add import costs and tax to it, as it won't be coming to US)
I'd just take the ZR1 and call it a day.

Spec-V isn't planned to be released in the US so far, so you don't need to worry about it.
and the price of the GT-R depends on where you're going to buy it, I have found a couple for around $75,000. So,
~$75,000 For a PREMIUM GT-R.
$104,820 For the Corvette ZR1.
I'd just take the GT-R, maybe tune it and save lots of money, have better performance than the ZR1, better fuel economy, better built car and call it a day.

No, the premium will cost you around 85K new. If we're talking used it's a whole different story.
Tuning a GT-R isn't as easy as you'd think. They've juiced out every possible HP out of that 3.8 V6, and the parts are hard to find. A ZR1 is much easier to tune since it uses the same 6.2 V8 engine as the more mainstreamed Corvette base.
Z06 is your best bet. Gets 24MPG, higher than both ZR1 and GT-R. Also,you can do quite a bit with the 7 liters. You have better parts availability as well.

MotorTrend tested one and it did 0-60 in 3.2 seconds and the 1/4 in 11.0 FLAT @ 125mph. That's faster than what they tested the ZR1 doing which was 11.3 at 128mph. Carbon Ceramic brakes do not make cars stop better per se, but it allows them to do it repeatedly without having a change in effects. and 1.12G is absolutely AMAZING especially with AWD which usually hurts in the skid pad because of understeer. This is a ZR1 eater, it has better numbers EXCEPT in top speed, and has AWD drivability.

1.06 isn't really comparable to 1.12. When talking about G forces that's a pretty noticeable margin. For example the 350Z pulls .94G and the 05-09 Mustang GT pulls .88G and those cars feel night and day different when in the twisties. The margin of difference between a Mustang GT is to a 350z as the ZR1 is to a Spec-V exactly .6G which I have proven to be a VERY noticeable margin. Also from .94G to the Z06's 1.0G is exactly .6G.

Can those numbers be achieved without voiding the warranty and breaking transmission?

Yes, The redid the launch control to that it launches at 3 or 4k instead of almost 6k like it was with last years model. So still very close 0-60 times with out messing up trans or voiding warranty. And I hear that the reprogram is possibly available for current GT-R owners.
