  • this lens is NOT sharp at all and if you don't get it as kit lens, DON'T buy it!

  • @ortodox989 Great quality for the price, amazing for beginners.

  • @JerrelMD Nope, 50mm 1.8 is great quality lens that produce amazing, sharp images for the price, this one isn't mate! Like I said, if you get as a kit lens it's ok, but don't buy it! Trust me! ;)

  • @ortodox989 Yeah, I'm probably getting the 'plastic fantastic' too. ;)

But I'm really happy with some of the photos I got just some minutes ago. Set the aperture to f/8.0 and you get some amazing quality pics <3

  • Just IS not II

  • Alternatively kill two birds with one stone and get the 18-200. A great walkaround lens.

I have one and the 50mm f1.8 and can't see any reason to buy anything else.

    Tell a lie, I'd love a 10-20.

  • Mmm ah yes the new basic kitlens.

Not bad either.. for the price you get allot. Yes it isn't equal to a $400 or $800 lens no but for the price it is very acceptable. Yes it uses cheaper glass so what.. it usually works well enough.

  • Hi Rob,

I think it is a good lens, too. The range is just perfect for a walk around and beginner's lens.

I've now given my Canon 450D to my girlfriend to shoot with, because I've turned to film, and she likes it too. It is a versatile and flexible lens. The only drawback is its variable aperture.

    Thanks for the video.
