  • They've already got a similar sign on Paternoster Square in London today, a BBC interviewer and a spokesman for the occupy crew got moved on by security yesterday. I think you might see the viciousness of British law enforcement at work in London yet again today. I hope not but I'm not optimistic.

  • Huh. A "public private property". I'm guessing this arrangement looks like not such a good idea after all to whomever made it up. But it occurs to me that this is the advantage for occupiers! Bloomberg is getting pressure from liberals to be tolerant at the same time he's getting pressured by Wall Street to clean it up. As it is, everybody has an out. It's private property. Brookfield doesn't want to take the fall either. Cops can say it's private property and nobody called them. Interesting.

  • Brookfield Properties RUNS or OWNS the park? That's the crucial legal question. Juan's framing of the question is interesting and implies a contract of use between the owner and the city.

Gotta love the cleanup thing though. The footage of people scrubbing the sidewalks with soap and water. Cleanest spot in Manhattan.
