So very jelly :) I'm wondering tho, don't you have to stick everything down and make accomodation for things sliding all over the place when you're driving?
you seem like a cool and down to earth woman and also not very high maintenance. my question is how come you are not married, my parents are full time rv'ers and have a wonderful time traveling the country together. i could also understand the single traveling thing, at times that sounds appealing also.
@stemcg11 It's a free country. You don't need to be married to live in a RV. Many people enjoy the single life. I have a room mate that share living spaces with me. So I'm never lonely. I have a friend with me at all times. I also have a dog. It keeps me company while my room mate is gone for the day.
You are the only other younger woman besides myself I have ever seen doing the full time RV living alone. Good for you! I am now married with kids. That was part of the deal. You want to be with me...you gotta live in an RV!!!! :P
This is my ultimate dream. I'd rather travel with a partner though because I'm afraid of having problems on the road & my anxiety issues getting the best of me. By the way, (random comment) you have a very soothing voice. I enjoyed the commentary as much as the tour. :)
I've always liked trailers but I am a lazy duster and scrubber, egad you have to stay on the housework in these little places. In the past I just hired cleaners, honest work for them and I had kind of an excuse for being a slob. I live in France and it is not an RV-friendly country but I've scoped out some camping and parking options. I am no expert and live in an apt but if anyone wants to contact me, I can try to direct 'em. Uprated.
@xfiles1011 - I agree the RV Parks can cost as much as a small apartment. Here are the advantages that I can see; you have the accomodations YOU want, don't need to worry if landlord will correctly repair any maintenance problems, if you have screwy neighbors one of two solutions, 1) they will be moving in a few days or 2) you can move in short order ( unlike regular apartments you are tied to a 1 yr lease and if you break it, it costs you sometimes 75% of the unpaid balance..
Yes, it is on the Mercedes Benz chassis, but mine is the rarer 2.7L 5-cyl diesel. They were only on the 2006 model year (2005 chassis). All rvs went to the 6 cyl after that. I get about 15-17 mpg. It is considered a class C because of the overhead bunk.
@The49265 - I'm assuming you're trying to be funny w/that comment...as "American Coach" is one of the more upscale, premiere MH's in the industry...and I fail to see how even at the smallest length (42ft) and price ($425K), those coaches are NOT "Live in Kind"...
RV parks run about $300 to $500 a month if you stay there full time. You can often stay at state parks for two to three weeks at a time for less. When you are making reservations, they will be specific about what you can have. They usually have some spaces that are big enough for a 40 foot RV plus one car. I posted all of my expenses on my blog, livinginmycar com. Hit the category for 'money'. I saved money.
1. What's would be the cost of staying in an RV park full time? Cause the one's I've seen are campsites that charge minimum 35$ a day. Is there an option to buy a lot?
2. How big can the lots be? Enough room for say a couple cars?
3. How are the costs compared to living in an apartment or house?
I am currently working on becoming a career racing driver which could take me across North America, and in the meantime I'd like to save some money also!
Most people worry more about doing it alone. Two people is probably best - but I'd get at least a 29 ft or a class A. (Unless you both live out of doors most of the time.)
My wife and I (and our very small dog) are thinking about doing this instead of paying rent. What do you think about doing something like this if there are two people?
Thanks for posting, you have the RV fixed up really cute. I need more storage in my ClassC ;-) Like the idea of the baskets in the overhead bed part. I might have to consider that & move my fold up chairs & outdoor fold up table elsewhere...but not sure where they could go at this point. Happy RVing!
@iKloveKtoast ...Thanks iKloveKtoast, I've resolved it by putting what I needed to put in storage baskets into a duffle bag. So my chairs & table can stay inside the RV.
do you live in your rv? this is what im going to be doing shortly, only a class a. i have a few questions about rv life if you dont mind, please shoot me a message.
