There was something about Ms. Crabtree. She was definitely the authority figure that you respected but at the same time every boy wanted to ride in her car. She was almost angelic yet down-to-earth enough where the kids weren't afraid to open up to her even if it was admitting something to her that they knew they'd get punished for. They respected and loved her. Now its at the point where the name "Ms. Crabtree" is synonymous with the word "teacher". She was a positive adult figure.

To say Miss Crabtree was a 'smoking hot babe', while true in a sense, is not wholly accurate. She is, indeed, impossibly lovely in a totally unthreatening way -- in those light colored dresses and soft light, she almost seems to glow. But what draws you to her, it seems to me, is her gentleness, kindness and sweetness -- check out that look of forgiveness she gives to Jackie at the end of the clip. She was also playfully fun and tolerant in her interaction with the Our Gang kids.

June Marlowe was born Gisela Goetten, of German heritage, in St. Cloud, Minnesota. Hal Roach suggested that Marlowe, a brunette, wear a blond wig to match Jackie Cooper's hair, she got the part. The three In 1933, Marlowe married Hollywood businessman Rodney Sprigg, and she retired from motion pictures to become a housewife. In her later years, she suffered from Parkinson's disease, dying from complications caused by it on March 10, 1984, aged 80.

Actually this lady is not what she seems. She had a contract for 3 shows. She was German and returned to Germany as she had been a radio star there. She also had black hair. Hard to believe without any accent at all.

hehe I don't remember the name of the film most of the video was taken from, but Jackie had accepted a ride to school from Miss Crabtree, and told her all about the pranks the class was going to play on their new teacher - not knowing that Miss Crabtree IS the new teacher!. :-)
