Hi pittaca, The VAWT method is not nearly as efficeint as the HAWT method of extracting energy, we've developed both in our patent. In the Youtube search bar type in Earth Spiral. We intend to have both VAWT and HAWT developed to the fullest.The blades slip through the wind with out a sound. Spiral blades look so fluid, seems to me same blades will turn as well even on vertical axis.. hmm.. Just imagining..
