  • @Zapper123ize I was being scientific, which uses neither Celsius or Fahrenheit.

  • Greatest motivational video ever created. 212 Lives in us forever.

  • @MJeezy513 You still haven't answered the question... And yes obviously this and other videos can motivate people look at all the post that are for it. It's all your mind set.. If go into with a close mind before you even look at it.. It's like jumping off a plane with a closed parachute.. All it's asking is to go into it with and open mind. If your looking for one little thing wrong I promise you.. You'll find it. The video was made in hope enhancing someones life.. And people are knocking

  • This is the worst motivational video ever made

  • ppffffttt no it doesnt, it boils at 373! if your going to be scientific :)

  • @tipo114

actually water boils at 212f and 100c

  • The people posting against this video are just a bunch of punk fucking kids. If you can't understand what the video is trying to convey go to the jersey shore side of youtube, please. Anyone who is striving to make something happen in their lives, or just looking to have a better outlook could look to this video for that inspiration. I guess that's hard to see in your parents dark basement.

  • 2:49 is Ludington Michigan

  • For those that want to improve their life, this can be very compelling and inspiring; while others will ignore the message and will stay where they are at - whereever their 'at' is....

  • @mherrerramusic If you really think a video will motivate people, you're doing it wrong.

  • My question for all of you who dislike this video is what kind of video would you make to motivate people? seriously!!!?!??!

  • @MHerreraMusic I'd make porn. It would motivate people to fap a lot.

  • Who every made this is a lame my teacher made me watch this its supid and boring yall some krems

  • Cool, but the science is bit misleading.

1 btu is the amount of heat required to raise one pound of water one degree. So, heating water to 212 degrees requires 212 btus. However, to convert water at 212 degrees to steam at 212 degrees, an additional 965 btus are needed.

So while the state change does happen at 212, it requires over 4 times as much as heat as you've already put in before you can power that locomotive.

  • Really this was awesome

  • The song should be a soundtrack on Saw

  • Easy. The video wasn't that awesome.

  • FUCK YOU WETMORE!

  • Awesome video!

  • Holy fuck this video was great.

  • my swim coach just showed us this video today for motivation at our meet tonight.

  • @Vswimmer2012 my swim caoch showed me this video too!!

  • If everybody watched this video on a daily basis more people in this world would work harder to achieve more.

  • What the hell............................... o_O

  • Love it, absolutely motivational!! :)

  • Love the idea and concept - first saw this 5 years ago and still love it! Really though, people need to stop taking themselves too seriously with some of the comments below..

  • jp;lj

  • I like this video a lot and it's OK with me if others dislike it. :-)

  • All these motivational videos are so vague that they are completely useless.

  • SOCCER

  • 1.54 seconds for formula one and .71 seconds for track are pretty big margins in those sports.

  • 1.54 seconds for formula one and .71 seconds for track is a pretty big margin in those sports.

  • I hate to be a party pooper, but water doesn't boil at 212 degrees. It's still remains in a liquid state. To turn it into steam requires the addition of more heat. This heat does not raise the temperature, rather it causes a change of state, turning the liquid into vapor. It's called the latent heat of evaporation. Nice video though, and they make a good point.

  • ndgfhfjsd gvhdfhvfbdc gbujsdj teacher showed us for TAKS

  • I like the concept but the fact is that water will boil at a lower temp if you lower the pressure. It ruins the concept for me because I'm in education. It means to get the job done, all you have to do is lower the standard.

  • what separates you from success is like the 1 extra degree it takes to boil water. one more action or one more decision and your life can change. it will never be the same.

  • 666 likes...its a sign

  • i saw it at scool too cause were doing map testing they say it warms u up

  • Whats that song??

  • watched it in school before the TAKS but me and my freind were alll like 'what up with the horror music?'' then i had a vision of the future. man i freaked out!

  • me too!!!

  • we watched this before taking our sats. ha wow are you kidding all the teachers were wearing shirts that had 212 degrees of excellence on the back walking around like we we were actually inspired to try hard in school. haha lmao

  • this motavatied me and my volleyball team

  • boiling water really has nothing to do with heat. water boils when the vapor pressure equals that of the surrounding atmosphere.

  • What's not pointed out in this video is the very large amount of energy that it takes to get that seemingly very small 1 degree increase.

  • We are that close to our goal, please don't give up.

    LIVE from Egypt

  • awsome, really inspirering, thks!!

  • i watched this at school. this vid is awesome

  • Only the simple minded are inspired by such drivel.

  • @kreidben ..and only the arrogant, rude, and angry make disparaging comments to those of whom they know little about. Why are there so many hateful and negative comments on YouTube and other public forum websutes? Is anonymity allowing the safety of people to act like the jerks they secretly want to be, but are too cowardly to outright be in public?

  • @Madisonwest764 Oops..misspelled, "websites" in second sentance. I thought I had better address it before it is used against me as fodder and fuel to call me "Simple Minded" :-)

  • @kreidben you are right troll friend

  • @kreidben you are right troll friend if this vidio is inspirational justin bieber is a man

  • @kreidben you are right if this video is inspirational justin bieber is a man

  • if you move over the degree symbol, it makes 2[0]12 @.@ scary....

  • amazing video

  • amazing video

  • this is my softball theme :) we love it <3

  • at 212 water boils, but at 211 its still pretty damn hot

  • We watched this in school today and I just had to watch it again! How motivational. 5 stars.

  • this is at our school.....

  • we watched this in school today

  • i have no words for thiss... ummmmmm yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa...............8)

  • ....watch what I can do...

  • My girlfriends dad made me watch it when I was at their house one day..

  • @aaron8449 hahahahahahaahahhah

  • wow... everyone seen this at school, and the music is great.

  • saw it at school

  • Saw this at school.. pretty cool.

  • one of the very best!

  • Boiling point of water is 212 degrees Fahrenheit only at sea level. The higher your altitude, the lower the boiling point. Well, I'm so motivated now, I'm going to smoke another joint.

  • @benismyusername your an idiot!

    Dope head

  • lame.

  • @benismyusername i love you

  • Can anybody help me find what song this is?

  • this is my football teams motto

  • @dasneakyNINJA1 sick this is my volleyball and basketball teams motto haha

  • microwizard - go back to school! Check out wikipedia.

Water boils at 100 degrees Celsius or 212 degrees Fahrenheit under standard conditions at sea level (at one atmosphere of pressure).

  • @cindymmouse wikipedia is not a credited source of information

  • @benismyusername then where else to get information

  • wonderful thought and learning from law of nature...keep it up

  • wats the name of the song? ne~

  • its inspirational video people please take it for what it is...the more you try to sound smart the more you stray from what this video is trying to convey...and the dumber you make yourselves out to be.

  • that vid is 4m my youth group its called 212 its fun we go on trips to alot of places its in a lil town called blythe

  • This video is Gay -ay -ay

  • @sportygirl0707 Yes, and?

  • @Foojack100 not really

  • @Foojack100 says the douche who thinks hes too cool for success and was to ssit on his ass all day, then pay for it when he grows up and is scraping up a living with a low income job, wishing they took things seriously when they were in school

  • @blythewoodbaseball I have straight As, I'm Running back for my school's football team, and I know how to program software. I take school seriously, just not this faggy video. They don't even know the proper temperature water has to be to power a steam engine!

  • @Foojack100 ok. my bad, sorry about what i said b4. i get wut u wer saying. im just sick of those kids who think school is gay and they dont play sports or pay attention to anything and they call "inspiring" stuff retarded and crap like that. mah bad tho, mah bad.

  • @blythewoodbaseball It's all cool, I understand.

  • How do you apply this to your life?

  • just great!!!..Deep thanks for this video....Wonderful..and lets complete this:

2+1+2 = 5 ..5 stands for unconditional eternal love(=H)...our bodies are made mostly of water...;)....water is H2O....(2 x H,1 x O)..so we are mainly made of eternal unconditional love?!;)))..love and light to you ,Namaste,Katharina

    Gostei!

  • well who said it has to be 212 to power the locomotive it just says steam powers a locomotive.

  • I watched this in my school i was kinda freaked out by this but its awsome!

    ~a happy 7th grader

  • ..Loco - Motive...?

  • @microwizard Appreciate the scientific explanation. But, here, i believe locomotive is just an example of what steam can do. Whether its steam at 212 or at 312.. its still Steam. and you get steam only when u go that extra degree.

  • we watch it every year before ISATS :)

  • can relate :D

  • Whats the name of the song?

  • My high school soccer team watched this for playing against a 5A school in the playoffs, we won. And we're 1A.

  • We must change in order to survive.

  • we have to protect our planet espectually water power, air and forest

  • our boss showed this video in training. i really liked it, it makes me feel accountable for my actions.

  • our soccer coach at LA high showed us this before our game which qualified us to the play offs ... we won :)

  • Fantastic' Very inspirational!

  • It doesn't always take that much more, to push yourself to that next level.

  • I'm dedicating this video to my son who is working hard to get his college degree.

    To TJS..Love Mom

  • Im a wrestler and i saw this video a couple of days ago. I have gone to state and have come in first twice. This has motivated me and i watch this on my iphone be4 every match and it gets me pumped up. This is the kind of stuff that motivates ppl. so just keep it coming

  • lol I didn't realize it was in Fahrenheit at first. This video will make little sense to most people around the world who use a sensible temperature scale like Celsius. Plus the 100 degree philosophy sounds cooler.

  • I want the sound track, anyone know the name of it.

  • Hi Friend, Its easy. Download this video and later save file as MP3. You would get this sound track

  • we saw it in school- washington

  • they called the hole high school in the autitorim and we watched it at green sea flyods high school loris southcarolina

  • This video is very inspiring, my college professor had us watch this.

The video gives you the want to reach for those higher goals.

  • very inspiring....keep it coming...

  • Bravo!

  • we watched it in school. And I liked the music lol so that's why I looked it up haha

  • sammmmmmme.

  • @WinterRenes lol me too XD

  • Saw it in school, pretty good video!

  • Ha what school you go to? i just saw it at gilbert high

  • Orrville

  • Truly inspiring!

  • I love this video. 212 is my favorite number!

  • This is absolutely fabulous. Thanks for sharing it with me!!!

  • Keep on inspiring ....... Yes you are right. One extra degree makes all the difference in lives field. Be different for better.

  • I cannot settle for anything less than 212 degrees after seeing this!

  • Outstanding channel, glad to be subscribed.

I love this inspiration video - you can never get enough inspiration!!!

Looking forward to seeing more of your videos. Check out my channel and if

you like what you see please show your support and subscribe back. (I'm new at video-like an amatuer, hoping to get better...)

Take care and keep up the excellent content my friend.

  • Actually that's a good point. Someone should make one for Celsius. Or revise this one. :P That would be awesome.

However, in the meantime, we should embrace the message this is trying to get across.

  • To get what we've never had we must do what we have never done.

  • Wouldn't it be wonderful if everyone embraced this theory?

  • Yes, Be diferent for Better.

    Thanks for the Video.

  • Thank you to whoever made this video. Very inspiring.

  • boy that was good. thanks for the message. learning is great, you never know enough theres always more to add.

    peace

  • It's really very simple people...it's about keeping on, keeping on....go that much further in whatever you want to accomplish...and you will.

Let's not make this about physics and "what it really means."

What is means is if you want to succeed in whatever are you desire...then turn of the heat.

  • It's a very well-made point. I think that even if it takes 540 times the effort, it's still worth it. That's the point that ddrruumm is making. I think he/she agrees that getting to that point of massive effectiveness is HUGE, but wholly worthwhile. Anyone who has known people who are PhD. or PhD ABD understands that massive amount of work associated with that *seemingly* small last step. It's a great point, that could be made with science, not hillbilly-isms.

  • "Man is not perfect..maybe he should try harder-

    it's worth it "

    Well Said...

    thanks

  • anyone know who's the sound composer ?

  • The background music makes me want to break free from or manipulate the MATRIX! :) Thanks Neo!

  • does anyone know the name of the background music?

  • Thank you for your beautiful message. Thank you for your effort, your focus and your generosity. Serendipitous. Blessings to you and yours.

  • Thanks for your thoughtful comments, but I think success is about working smart, not hard. Success does come easy to those who are innovative, unafraid, and who take risks. Metaphors frequently "slaughter facts." Don't take it so seriously.

  • Look a the big picture and leave the physics alone...if YOU made the analogical effort in everything that you do you would not be hung up on small details. Man is not perfect..maybe he should try harder- it's worth it!

  • I love the missed-the-point response that the science is wrong, as the metaphor flies over his head. Keep staring at those leaves and miss the forest (and first place).

  • Actually, I obviously got the analogy. However, I also realize that success requires much effort, not just a "little bit more". The video leads one to believe otherwise, imo. I am not a non-believer in success, I just realize it does not come so easy. I also realize most don't want to hear that. It's all cool... I get it :) I also get reality though, as I have a degree in Chemistry which I got from hard work. So, it's hard to to someone slaughter facts, for the sake of a video. :)

  • We watched this in school!

  • Wow! This vid was very informative!

  • Oh yes very powerful Thanks for posting.

  • this video was not made by him but nice idea of putting it on ur page :)

  • wow im in canada too. and its not the temperature of the weather its just 212 degrees F like from a stove...

  • Awsome awsome video, this is one of the most powerful vids I've seen in awhile

  • Awesome. Nicely done!

  • can someone summarize this video because i don't get it and i watched it at school

  • The point of this video is to inspire us to make the effort to cross the line from good to great. 211 degrees is hot, but has relatively no energy in it whereas 212 degrees is the boiling point, which creates steam. Steam is a source of energy. The difference is 1 degree point--that extra push for greatness. We all have it in ourselves to be great, we just need to make that extra push.

  • Great video......gave me goosebumps

  • Just Watch the Video Daily

  • Greatest video I have ever seen!

  • this video is amazing

    btw who knows the music?

  • some of yall need this so pay attention and you guys know who im talking about

  • steam can power a locomotive, its funny how all the little things can add up to make something great...

  • Some people forget about trying there best in the world. Sometimes we just needed to be reminded how to do that, and this video does that for us!

  • During marching band we shout. 212 all the time.

  • We have this on the back of our cross-country shirts!!! 212 degrees, the extra degree!!!!

  • omg they made me watch this vid too... nice music though

  • They made us watch this at school today.

  • AH.

this is the youth group they have at the church i go to. =] i love it there.

  • this is a good video for people that think they are nothing in this world
