Prior to buying a Woodrat, I made everything with a hammer-screws-Saw, I had never made a joint in wood in my life, never used a Router. I have since built, Fish tank cabinet-Two Chest of drawers with tiny dovetails, and also 50 feet of garden fence put together with Mortice and Tenon joints, plus double gates. These are all 6 feet high. A front gate and another double for a friend. You can't leave it alone once you have discovered how easy and accurate it is.
I have seen a similar machine the "router boss" on you tube also both seem to be excellent machines....
